Components of computer-

1-Input Device- OCR (optical character reader), MICR (magnetic ink character recognition)
2-CPU i) ALU ii) Memory
a) Primary memory
b) Secondary memory
3-Output device- i) Monitor- LED, LCD, touch screen
ii) Printer- impact, non-impact

1) Keyboard- Wireless keyboard work by Bluetooth so that keyboard can be kept at a

distance from the monitor to save from the harmful effect of EM radiation.
2) Mouse- It divides x and y coordinates. Then, a heavy ball rolls produce rolling kinetic
energy but after a long time surface become frictionless and it didnt work.
The optical mouse contain a very thin camera and a light device takes picture per
second. And as the mouse moves, the image changes and the cursor rolls the new
coordinates. It can work on frictionless surface also.
3) OCR (optical character reader)- there are many types of OCR such as barcode reader
, QR code reader, holostore etc
i) Bar code reader: A barcode is a 13 digit number where alternate black
coloured thin and thick bars are placed. These numbers denote the origin of
the product, the type of product, price etc The bar code reader contains a
high intensity light in red colour wavelength range that falls on the bar code
and the reflected light contains a particular BW that has the information. The
black colour bars absorb the light while white colour background reflects it.
ii) QR code ( Quick response code): these are two dimensional square images
having a black colour lines on a white background. These black images
absorbs a light and the reflected light contains particular BW that contains
information such as an image or a video. Paytm uses a QR code to identify
the user and the merchant. Bharat QR code identifies the user and the
merchant bank. Therefore interbank money transfer take place through
Bharat QR code which is not possible through Paytm.
iii) Holostore- The QR codes are here arranged in 3D. when lights falls on it , a 3d
image is produced that can be moving or even a static image.
iv) Magnetic ink character reader: It is used in banking system in cheques where
the magnetic ink code is present in each and every cheque. It can be read by
a device and therefore there is no need to send the cheque to respective
home branch.
