I have a concept on how to keep our students on track so they will graduate on time through a

track system. If the counselors would help the students declare a major and promise to register for 6

classes every semester the student will keep on track to graduation. The student would have to pass at

least 12 credits out of the 18 credits every semester to progress from a freshman to sophomore status.

You want the student to be serious about college by encouraging good grades with a good intention to

pass all their classes each semester. It would not make sense to be in college and still be a freshman. If

we offer a bachelor degree it would be a good idea to have a college track system for accreditations to

know our students are graduating on time.

There are several reasons why it is important to post letter grades on a grade report. A letter

grade signifies a quantitative value to the student learning equivancy for taking a class. An A grade is

given to the student who has exhibited excellent comprehension for the course. A B grade that the

student is a little above average. A C grade is awarded to the student who does satisfactory work and is

given a satisfactory completion for the class. A D grade is below average. An F grade is for failure.

A letter grade is assigned to the student when they complete the class and the student is

merited with grade points that will determine a cumulative grade point average. The student with an A

grade will be given 4.0 points., A B grade 3 points, a C grade 2 point, a D grade 1 point and 0 for an F

grade. The communitive grade point average is determined by divided the amount of credits into the

amount of semester or the amount of accumulate grades points and credits overall.

A student is given an incomplete grade when they complete 75% of the class. The incomplete

grade must be repeated a passed within one year or the incomplete will change to an automatic F grade

on the student grade report. A student has the option to audit the class. An audit grade is issued to the

student who wants to take the class without receiving any credit and letter grade for the class. The

student must participate in class by submitting all course work and completing test. The instructor will

1
keep a personal record of the students progress in class. No letter grade is assigned for an audited class.

A student may withdraw from class. When a student withdraws from class the student does not receive

a letter grade and no credit for the class. Each grade of incomplete, audit and withdraw is recorded that

the student attempted to take the class and no grade was assigned.

There is a purpose for recording grades and to post letter grades on a grade report. A

letter grade signifies a quantitative value to the student learning equivalency for taking a class.

An A grade is given to the student who has exhibited excellent comprehension

A student who earns a B in four classes. The student earns 3-grade points for getting a B

grade in each class totaling 12-grade points. Divide the total of grade points by the number of

classes. The student earns a 3.0-grade point average overall. Two As and two D grades will

average out to a 2.5 semester grade point average. Four points for the A grades one point each

for the D grade, totaling 10 grade points, divided by 4 classes is equivalent to 2.5 semester

grade point average. When a student takes more classes they can balance their grade point

average by making good grades. The more A grades the students average can improve a lot

while the more failing grades will lower the students grade point average in one semester. The

point for the student is to encourage to make good grades.

The next semester the student gets two C grades. A C grade earns 2-grade points each totaling

4-grade points. Giving the student 16 grade points. The student is taking 2 classes. Divide 4-

grade points by 2 totaling a 2.0 average. Divide a total number of grade points, 14-grade

points, by 6 classes totaling 2.33 overall grade point average.

2
A student must earn an F grade by participating in class, turning in assignments and taking all

quizzes and exams. A student who stays in class can benefit from the learning experience by showing an

effort was made in class to learn. The student may repeat a class he/she failed up to three times until

he/she gets a passing grade.

A student who has an incomplete class must repeat the class in order to receive a letter grade.

An incomplete grade is given to the student when the student leaves class with an emergency and

cannot attend class for a valid reason.

Grade points divided by letter grades will determine a students grade point average. A

cumulative grade point average is determined by knowing the semester grade point average. A student

with a B grade X 3 grade points = 9. If a student has 4 class the grade point average is 2.25. The more

class the students takes will determine whether the students grade point average will degree or

improve. The more class the student took, the letter grade will increase or decrease the students grade

point average each semester.

A withdraw grade is considered a failing grade because the student did not complete the class. It

is better to complete the class with an F grade than to take a withdraw grade because it shows the effort

of the student in the class. An F grade can always be repeated.

A student who graduates with a C shows the employer that they do average work in their major.

The student who excels with A grades in their major demonstrates great knowledge for their field. Every

student should set a goal for passing grades.

We want aspiring and insightful students who want to engage in their education to work

towards graduating on time by being focused in regards completing their educational goals. If a student

3
registered for five classes and finished four out of five, that is five classes closer to graduation. If the

student took four classes in two summer sessions, the student would have made up for the credits he

missed in the fall and spring semester meeting graduation goals by keeping track of his credits and

staying on target. It is more rewarding for the student take more classes and stay in school when there is

an incentive. When a student takes classes he does not take the required classes, it will take longer to

graduate because he needs to take the required course work to graduate on time.

College can be life-learning task. There are many reasons why people come to college. For many

they come to college to get a degree, for some it is to further their education, for some it is to pick up a

skill in their specialty or for some they take classes for recreation. For the student who wants to earn a

degree it is important that they stay on track, make good grades so they can graduate.
