REFLECTION PAPER: DAY # 5 FIELD TRIPS 2

On November 16, 2017, we visited the Cayman Islands National Museum and Cayman

Helicopter. At the National Museum, I learn that the building that house the museum is not just a

national treasure but also the oldest building in the Cayman Islands. This building was the first

post office, the earliest commissioner offices and the first purpose-built courthouse and jailhouse.

It also serves as a schoolroom, a public library, saving the bank and a dancehall. The national

museum was established in 1979 to collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit the natural, cultural

and art history of the Cayman Islands. I also learn how the catboat was made and how it changes

the fishing industry. Fishing was one of the primary income as seamen would go fishing for

turtles and fish to support their families.

Cayman Islands helicopter was formed in Grand Cayman in 2003 to give visitors and locals

exciting tour opportunities that were not available. The fleet consists of a Euro copter AS350 B2

that is paint of the underwater life in Grand Cayman.

With the information, I have learned as it relates to as it relates to business and society you

see how globalization in the market has evolved. With technological innovation such as the

internet, satellite technology, and others have made it easy and faster for companies to

communicate (Lawrence and Weber, 2014, p.119). You can see the advancement of technology

in the museum as you can watch old clips and also play voice recording devices with historical

information.
