CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Flowers are common objects not only for couples, but for everyone to show their
appreciation and respect towards someone. People nowadays want something different. That is
why the owners proposed this business to serve as an avenue for people to show their affection in
a higher notch.

NATURE OF THE BUSINESS

With the growing popularity of social media, everyone almost posts whatever it is
happening in their lives. The places theyve been to, food that theyve eaten to gifts that they
receive like stuffed toys, chocolates and flowers are some of the examples of what people post
online. The owners saw a growing audience of people posting pictures of bouquets they receive.
They noticed something identical: they are not creative enough. This is where our proposed
business comes in Belle Fleur. Our business aims to produce aesthetically appealing, creative,
innovative and unusual flower arrangements. We would be using premium flowers in order to
create the best arrangements possible. Aside from that, we are also offering our very own
combination of Belgian and Tablea chocolates to complement the flowers.

NAME AND LOCATION OF THE BUSINESS

The name of our business is Belle Fleur. It is a French term which means beautiful
flower. Like the name, the owners are targeting to conceive beautiful arrangements that are far
from the usual styles we are familiar with. The owners also perceive that the name is catchy and
easy to remember. Belle Fleurs proposed business location is at Vizione Plaza, Caloocan. The
proponents chose this place because it is situated among the primary places in Caloocan.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Competitor Analysis

In a market analysis, it is necessary to discover who your potential competitors may be. By
achieving this, business owners can formulate ways in which their business can excel, and also
exceed its existing competitor. They can do this by first, identifying what their products and
services they offer. There are two classifications of competitors: the direct and indirect
competitors.

A direct competitor is a business or businesses that offers the same product and is also
vying for the same potential market.

The proposed location of Belle Fleur has a direct competitor. This establishment is Blooms
and Flowers. Having a direct competitor can be a hindrance for the success of Belle Fleur. It can
divide the customers into choosing which establishment they can avail the service from.

ESTABLISHMENT DESCRIPTION
Blooms and Flowers A flower shop that provides flower
arrangements for weddings, birthdays,
anniversaries, corporate events and other
special days.

Page | 7
An indirect competitor on the other hand, is a business that serves the same category of
goods, but differs in the product that they offer.

In Belle Fleurs benefit, there is no indirect competitor within the proposed area.

building Vizione Plaza itself.

UTILITIES NEEDED

A flower shop business will be a success if managed properly by providing the equipment
needed to offer high-quality products. Electricity is a necessity for Belle Fleur to be successfully
operated. Keeping flowers in the right temperature is essential for Belle Fleur to provide high-
quality flower arrangements.

Refrigerated cases are also mandatory to preserve the freshness of the flowers.

WASTE DISPOSAL

Proper waste disposal is also one of the business' priorities. We will be having two trash
cans: one for the biodegradable and the other for the non-biodegradable. Each trash can has plastic
bags inside to make it easier for the garbage collector to dispose it.

Management System

Vizione Plaza requires two sets of trash bins to be placed together, one for biodegradable
and one for non-biodegradable for proper waste disposal and to promote an eco-friendly
environment.

Segregation

The first trash bin with the label "Biodegradable" are for wastes such as leftover foods,
leaves and decayed flowers. The other trash bin with the label "Non-Biodegradable" are for wastes
such as plastic bags, ribbons etc.

Disposal

The trash bins are collected by the Vizone Plaza management after operating hours
everyday. It will then be thrown into the dump site.

may cause the business to fail:

SOCIO ECONOMIC IMPACT

A business must not be established only for the purpose of earning money and recognition, but
to also be a beneficial and accommodating firm to the citizens. A good business must also be able
to provide proper service to its consumers to achieve success in gaining profit for your business
and to be a favorable business as well for the people.

To the Economy
A business is one of the major sources for economic growth. It must contribute to
our countrys economy by providing goods and services. In relation to this,
payment of taxes must be done properly as well.

To the Employment
Businesses are also sources of employment. Just like how a business goods and
services are helpful to the countrys economic growth, this factor is also important
for it provides employment to the people.

To the Community
Belle Fleur contributes to the community by satisfying the customers desires. Our
flower shop business provides premium flowers that will fulfill the needs of the
