Why does a business need to be ethical in the way it treats the environment (planet)>

Ethics concern an individuals moral judgments about right and wrong. Decisions taken within an
organization may be made by individuals or groups, but whoever makes them will be influenced by the
culture of the company.

Ethics can bring significant benefits to a business. For example, they may:

Attract customers to the firms products, which means boosting sales and profits
Make employees want to stay with the business, reduce labour turnover and therefore increase
productivity
Attract more employees wanting to work for the business, reduce recruitment costs and enable
the company to get the most talented employees
Attract investors and keep the companys share price high, thereby protecting the business from
takeover.

Provide at least one reason why companies consider it is ethical to monitor their employees work
computer and stations even when there is loss of privacy for the employee how does the employer
justify it?

Employers have the right, even a duty, to protect the corporation from legal liability incurred by the
careless action of their employees. The use of e-mail from the employers computer can get the
company into worlds of trouble, and the company must monitor that e-mail.

I think employee should have their own privacy and shouldnt be monitored by anyone.

There are no laws to protect employees privacy from the companies. In fact: Many company have
legal rights to monitoring over everything in their computers.

Would you be ok for someone going through your personal stuff even their intention is not to inquire
your privacy?

accepted as superior to any alternatives because it produces results that are superior to those achieved
by other means or because it has become a standard way of doing things, e.g., a standard way of
complying with legal or ethical requirements. Federal agencies such as the Departments of Veterans
Affairs, HHS, and Agriculture can achieve significant benefits using spend analysis best
practices to support a more strategic approach to buying goods and services. Like leading companies,
agencies that establish an effective spend analysis program can then.

A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care. The person who has a fiduciary duty is called
the fiduciary, and the person to whom he owes the duty, is typically referred to as the principal or the
beneficiary. If an individual breaches the fiduciary duties, he or she would need to account for the ill-
gotten profit.

As a member or manager of a limited liability company (LLC), you may owe dutiesof trust, known

Propose a regulatory and reporting framework for detection and acting upon corruption?

Introduction

Reallistically, corruption will never be wholly eradicated.

A regulatory and reporting framework must be in place (systems for detection and prosecution).

Whistle-blowing is the most effective way of exposing wrongdoing.

Whistle-blowing Mechinism

Whistle-blower: someone who reports or discloses information on a threat or harm to public

interest.

But often, nothing is done about the wrongdoing and the whistle-blower suffers repercussions.

Protection of whistle-blowers

Research shows that external whistle-blowing is more effective that internal whistle-blowing.

An integrity policy encourages staff to discuss matters openly.

Investigation, prosecution and sanctions

Transition from regular to rare corruption: chances of detection and probablity of being
penalised are high.

Anti-corruption agencies: law enforcement and responsible for detection, investigation and
prosecution.

For maximum deterrence, detection should be matched by punitive sanctions (effective

disciplinary policies, penalties and possibly restitutions).

Analyze the belief that HR should be at the center of any corporate code of ethics?

Ensure ethics is a top priority

Ensure leadership selection & development
Ensure proper programs & policies are in place
Aware of ethical issues (legislation, etc)

Most HR professionals view themselves as the corporate conscience of the organization. HR has a direct
involvement in all aspects of the employee-employer relationship, because of this it is believed that if
the right people are hired in the first place many problems can be avoided down the road. For this
reason, many advocates of ethical business conduct argue that HR should be at the center of any
corporate code of ethicsnot as the sole creator of the code, since it is a document that should
represent the entire organization, but certainly as the voice of reason in ensuring that all the critical
areas are addressed.
