December 2017 Edition 2

Zambia Bound!
Wow! When God moves you better be ready! Dr. Marjie Heier came back on
furlough from Zambia in early September and helped us start a partnering
relationship with the Orphan Grain Train (OGT) by meeting with them at
their international office in Norfolk, NE. At that meeting OGT personnel
promised to send at least 2 containers to Marjies Chifundo Medical Clinic
as soon as possible. After that meeting everyone related to MH started
scrambling to get our long-warehoused inventory of goods boxed and
labeled so they could be placed into those departing shipping containers. Linda Schulze emerged as the leader in
organizing everything according to OGT standards for international shipping.
Our job was to get over 500 banana boxes of clothing and medical supplies, and also various and
sometimes bulky types of medical equipment to Norfolk. After a flurry of activity for 2-3 weeks preparing,
a Good Samaritan from Grand Island (name withheld) who has worked with MH in the past got involved.

Quickly we had an empty semi-trailer parked in the middle of the street downtown behind
the MH facility being fully loaded with 24 pallets of MH goods. After that early morning
loading, the semi-load headed to Norfolk to the OGT warehouses to await loading into the
shipping containers bound for Zambia. The first OGT container was loaded October 26 and
the second on November 7. We had volunteers to help load both 40 foot containers that
are now en-route. Arrival in Zambia is approximately 2-3 months from the original
shipping date. We should be able to show pictures of the unloading of those containers
when that occurs.

A Servants Heart
This quarter we would like to honor and thank Linda Schulze for her
committed service to Mission Heart. Linda is an ORGANIZER! She has
designed shelving for our new building, and her family built them. Linda has
designed and printed a number of stationery and promotional documents for
Mission Heart. Linda spends the summers hunting and gathering goods for
out missions at garage sales and thrift sales. In the winter months she sews
dozens of sanitary hygiene kits for the girls in Zambia. Linda also organizes
and packs our baby care kits and hygiene kits.
When we received word this fall that Mission Heart would be able to ship
tons of goods to Zambia with Orphan Grain Train we were delighted, but also
overwhelmed by the amount of work it would take to repack our cargo to Linda Schulze
meet the new shipping standards. Linda dug in and worked feverishly for 3
weeks to get the load out.
Thank you, Linda for your service! Mission Heart

New Cooperation With Orphan Grain Train
Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk supplied food items of great value that also were loaded onto those containers
going to the Chifundo Medical Center. It was mostly dry meals for which they are well-known in malnourished
areas around the world. Between the 2 containers, OGT was able to find room to add
106,920 Mercy Meals (495 boxes) and 52,272 Kids Against Hunger meals
(242 boxes)!! These meals all consist of one of two flavors and are rice-based with soy
protein and a nutrient package. Most people (including us!) have been unaware of the
huge blessing OGT is around the world. They
also have a warehouse in Grand Island as well
as 25 other locations across the U.S.
besides the Norfolk facility. We will continue to
work with the OGT to increase Mission Hearts
impact to ministries we can jointly cooperate
with. We will keep you informed as this occurs
in the future! Checkout this great ministry
organization being used of God at: www.ogt.org .

Mission Heart Building
Fund Established!

Mission Heart began renting a portion of the former D&D home improvement building in
downtown Central City less than one year ago in January. That facility provides 1600 square
feet of sorting space and another 1800 square feet of warehouse space. Compare that to the
less than 400 square feet the ministry operated out of for many years. The current space
makes room for more people to work very comfortably. There is also a laundry room with
washer and dryer as well as a bathroom. Recently we prepared about 30 pallets of boxes and
equipment for shipping to the Orphan Grain Train warehouse in Norfolk. That volume of
goods used almost all of the warehouse space for a short amount of time. So we are certain
that we want to remain in this building for well into the future. The building owners goal is
to sell the building as soon as they find a buyer, however the Mission Heart contract gives us
the first right to purchase it.
With that in mind, the Mission Heart board of directors approved the establishment of a
Building Fund to seek to raise funds to be able to consider the purchase of the entire 6400
square foot building. Therefore we are letting Gods people know of that need to see what
can be pledged to purchase the building for sustaining Mission Heart into the future. While
the final building purchase price is being negotiated, we have set a goal of $125,000 initially
to get close to what we think will be needed for the purchase.
What can you provide to help Mission Heart obtain this property? We are seeking gifts of all
sizes from those interested in perpetuating the ministry. Your $5, $10, $100, $500, $1000,
$5000, $10,000 or more will all help us reach our goal of $125,000! All gifts are
tax-deductible and can be spread to the 2017 and/or the 2018 tax years.

Through the generosity of some early donors, Mission Heart is able to match all gifts up
to a total of $35,000. Your gift will be doubled between now and the end of 2017 or until
all the matching funds are used!
