Application for the Siemens Graduate Program

Dear Sir,

Im writing to you to apply for the Siemens Graduate Program. I am very excited about this
opportunity. I believe that my experience of working in diverse roles creating value in multi- cultural
settings is aligned with both Siemens entrepreneurial culture and the role.

I am confident that Siemens is the place where I want to grow my career. I say this for the following
reason. Today, the world is at a crossroad. One path is the status quo and the other path leads us to
a sustainable world. Siemens has plans of investing Euro 4.8 billion in research and development in
2016, an increase of Euro 300 million over 2015. I, as a part of the Siemens Graduate Program want
to work in the area of renewable energy, efficient transmission, improved mobility and smart cities
finding solutions and driving results. Talking to Mr. Christian Rummel only reinforced my confidence
in Siemens.

On the 200th birthday of Werner von Siemens, Siemens decided to add a tagline Ingenuity for Life.
I would like to appeal to the value of Ingenuity For Life that Siemens stands for. I started my career
as an Electrical Engineer at Caterpillar Inc. in Germany. I was recognized by the Global CEO and was
given the opportunity to develop business in South East Asia, which constitutes 41% of global gas
genset market. I then became a part of a startup in Middle East, where we built our first phase of
energy assets at a cost of USD 5 million. I have worked on market entry strategies in Middle East and
South East Asia. This journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Leading teams across
cultures and excelling in diverse roles, I understand industry dynamics and cultural differences.

In each role, I have created value by initiating and driving change. While in Europe, when countries
introduced changes to regulations, my proposal resulted in savings of Euro 4 million per year by
switching from a standardized to customized protection system. Under my leadership, sales
increased to Euro 10 million which was a result of carrying out business development activities in
Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, establishing dealership networks and analyzing the impact of
implementing dual brand strategy. My startup experience at Dubai taught me how to work with
limited capital and resources. I developed marketing policies, managed supply chain and delivered
under pressure. I believe that my engineering expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, ability to think on
my feet & solve problems will be an asset to Siemens.

Ingenuity For Life also stands for creating impact and value for society. Overcoming language and
cultural barriers, I have always taken steps to create an impact. I sold my sketches to raise money
for Jaipur Foot (an organization that provides prosthetic limbs free of cost). I started a makeshift
school for ten underprivileged children, most of whom were later admitted to private schools. As a
trained Bharatnatyam dancer, I along with my troupe addressed gender inequality issues in
Rajasthan. I am currently working on ISB Going Paperless, an initiative close to my heart. Ms.
Shivani Handa spoke very highly of Siemens culture. I strongly feel that my passion and drive will
help me deliver value at Siemens.

My resume, which I have enclosed for your review, contains additional details about my work
experience and achievements. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you

Regards
