About Adest Architecture

Adest Architecture is a dynamic and efficient architectural firm that has been providing complete archi-
tectural design, master-planning, landscaping and interior design services since 2000. Adest Architec-
tures clients include: major local and international developers, private investors, retailers and big na-
tional corporations, local collectivities and governmental organizations. The firm is organized into sev-
eral open studios around different types of projects. The firms portfolio consists of: Residential,
Commercial and Offices projects. Our experience gives the firm the knowledge base for many projects
types and a clear understanding of a clients expectations.
Adest Architecture offers its clients the advantages of personal service by the principal Radu-Petre
Nastase and the depth and breadth of more than 12 years of professional practice.
Adest has over 18 highly qualified professional staff, who believes in unique, but sound, functional de-
sign. Our personal, responsive approach provides our clients with the leadership necessary to manage
the design team and contractors to complete the project successfully.

At Adest we believe in the benefit of continuity throughout the Client-Architect relationship. A success-
ful design integrates many different elements into an optimal solution. Adest Architectures design ap-
proach is to start each project by identifying with clients input, the principles, values and drivers of the
project. As the actual design progresses, design solutions will be tested according to these established
principles and values.
Adest Architecture takes pride in producing work which is sensitive to the environment as well as to

Adest Architecture is experienced in all phases of architectural practice, from site analysis and feasibil-
ity studies, through construction surveillance. Our experience spans a wide range of buildings types
and construction practices with an emphasis on high quality custom homes. Our interests extend to
the design of lighting, hardware and furniture as an integral part of architectural design, we create
spaces that enhance the human condition and allow for the evolution of the spirit.

STAFF
Our practice operates through the efforts of approximately 18 architects, planners, designers and sup-
port staff under the direction of the principal and four associate partners.
The team Adest consists in: the Principal Architect, 2 Directors & Project Coordinators, 1 Technical
Manager & Site Supervisor, 3 Registered Associate Architects, 4 Project Designers, 4 Architectural
Technicians, 1 Office Administrative Assistant, 1 Marketing and 1 PR Officer, 1 Front Desk Secretary
and auxiliary staff. The firms structure is a proactive architectural office structure in which several
Senior Project Architects head up their design teams with overall management provided by Radu-Petre
Nastase.

LOCATION/FACILITIES
Adest Architecture is located downtown Bucharest, sector 3 in a 600 sq-m newly refurbished old villa
which provides a professional, functional and creative atmosphere. This location offers easy access to
our clients and to all other locations in Bucharest and Romania. Adest develops its work in relation
with various actors (accounts, engineers, consultants) allowing a technological exchange of work
plants at various stages of design. This enables an accurate study of graphic documents based on an
advanced IT environment: 2 Intel dual Xeon servers inter-connected, among which 1 is dedicated to
the IMAP & Internet, double APC UPS 2800 W for servers separate auto-backup management, 22
pieces 3D/2D work stations, 8 administrative and multimedia-presentations stations, Autocad

Baneasa Shopping City is an original retail concept that


combines the newest and the most luxurious trends
(Fashion Mall) with the most tempting ways of
leisure (Family Entertainment that will be open soon in
the second phase of the project).
From an aesthetic and volumetric point of view, the build-
ing functions as a black box which concentrates its activ-
ity within the interior. The only areas that open towards the
exterior are the two extremities, treated as two atriums as
welcoming interfaces for clients. The pedestrian accesses
are designed in a spectacular way, with metallic structures
for glass mounting.
The originality of this mall is mainly created by the unique
concept produced by Adest Architecture, together with
Chapman Taylor, from the point of view of space, particu-
larly designed for the quality and the variety of the new
fashion brands.

Bucharest Business Park is located in close vicinity of The


Press House. The ensemble is a functional typological
model of business park: high quality office building, with a
small height ratio, within an open composition, set on a
generous land. The architectural definition of the ensemble
is simple and coherent, with full-gap string-courses of
terracotta cladding alternated with green strips, protected
by sun blinds. The project took advantage of a landscaping
project in order to offer a pleasant commercial architecture
and an agreeable working space.

Ferdinand Building resulted from a unique combination


due to the special form of the land and the problems in the
neighborhood. The building volume is inspired by a wing
shape, the two facades of the building having a curved
shape and being characterized through a game of ceramics
and strained-glass window panels.
The 10 floor building accommodates 8 apartments per
floor. The 80 apartments within the building are luxurious
and very spacious apartments that offer a unique living
experience.

Developed in Titan area, Rebreanu Residence brings up in


this area the first three-tower building of 14 levels, with a
total of 393 apartments. Each apartment is properly
equipped to suit the contemporary needs of comfort and
green areas in front of the building. The parking space is
solved by the two underground parking lots. In front of the
building there is a private park which offers a pleasant
ambiance to the whole compound.

Armonia Satu Mare will be the first large scale shopping


mall in Satu Mare, in the Northern part of Romania with a
strategic location, offering easy access to customers from
the city or from the outskirts.
With a total built area of 52,000 sq-m (1st phase), Armonia
Satu Mare will ensure a large diversity of shops to provide
a friendly and entertaining atmosphere for shopping com-
fort.
The most striking feature of this mall will be the glazed sky-
lights that allow natural light to flood the generous pedes-
trian accesses, while the fine lines of the internal spaces
will gently embrace visitors, heading to Carrefour and the
Food-Court area. The Food-Court will come with a wide se-
lection of food choices in various restaurants.
Both the interior design and the facades respond to the
most recent concept of contemporary architectural design.
Armonia Satu Mare is an interesting type of commercial
center of high standard design that contributes to the de-
velopment of the area, enhancing the quality of living.

The concept for Armonia Mall reflects the relationship be-


tween spaces, light and people within this new shopping
experience in the area.
The use of materials for Armonia Mall reflects the desire for
color harmony. Therefore, the walls and ceiling decorated
in white and pastel shades come in contrast with the dark
wooden benches that encourage the shoppers to rest and
linger. Reconstituted stone in silver, grey and red hues has
been used for flooring. This choice of floor unifies the
space, providing a background on which colors can coex-
ist. A philosophy of transparency, lightness and commer-
cial stimulation underlines every design element of Armo-
nia Mall.

The high standard residential building is located in the


Northern part of Bucharest. It was meant to be a contrast in
quality of architecture and detail to the surrounding block
of flats. It was designed in an unique but dynamic volume.
The flats are disposed two per floor with parking places at
the basement. Light spots, large surfaces and green
surrounding areas are including the sense of well being
and comfort.

Located in the Northern part of Bucharest, the standard


flats offer a new outstanding point of view to Floreasca
Lake. The building is designed to house 30 to 40 persons
with 2 apartments per level. The project seeks to ensure
areas as large as possible for the socializing zone of an
apartament. The 200 sq-m for each one of them has been
designed to provide flexibility and comfort. The body of the
building is a result of a rectangular shape and a
trapezoidal shape combined. Each one of them
corresponds to an apartment. The horizontal touch lines,
the retreat of the last floors and the horizontal dominant of
the glass surfaces keep the building to a human scale, in
respect for local neighborhood.

A FIVE STAR SKI RESORT HOTEL

Concept

Situated in a mountain resort in Romania, the new five


stars hotel, intends to contribute to the developing of local
trend of leisure activities.
The architecture concept follows the junction between the
main hotel function of accommodation with specific equip-
ments: a five star hotel, retail spaces, conferences rooms,
offering this way a variety of activities during the whole
year.
With a total area of 27, 500 sq-m, the hotel has 209 double
rooms and 45 apartments, 12 conference rooms and 2 am-
phitheatres, a restaurant, an English bar and a generous
SPA with interior and exterior pool.
The exterior configuration assures a good orientation of the
accommodation spaces heading towards the main views:
the ski slope and the natural lake in the neighborhood,
following a good integration within the land.

BARBU VACARESCU TOWERS

Barbu Vacarescu Tower is located close to the Northern


chain of lakes. The 37- floor tower was a proposal for the
highest building in Romania and a future landmark of the
city. The building is clad in glass and metallic structure and
provides: class A office spaces, 4 star hotel accommoda-
tion, commercial areas, entertainment and recreation facili-
ties.
The Shopping and Business Center surrounds an open
place, providing a quiet public space with generous land-
scaping protected by a large glass dome which provides
daylight to the entire atrium space.
The main central lobby develops also functions such as
media presentations, fashion shows or orchestra events.
The flats are disposed one per floor with parking places at
the basement. Light spots, large glass surfaces and green
surrounding areas are inducing the sense of well being and
comfort.

Bratianu Residence is a new luxury residential project,


currently under construction, located in the Northern part
of Bucharest, between Aviatorilor Boulevard and the
Kiseleff Street. The building follows the specific alignments
of the existing zoning plan of the protected area.
The handling of the facades is based upon delicate texture
designs and walls with large glass openings.
The 6 floor building offers luxurious and spacious
apartments that satisfy the most exigent requests
regarding the new contemporary living concepts.
The last two floors come with wonderful cozy apartments,
each of them offering great view to the Kiseleff and
Herastrau Parks. Each apartment has generous terraces for
outdoor dinning and relaxing. The building also ensures
underground parking and all necessary facilities.

Carol Tower is located at the intersection of Blvd. Carol with


Armeneasca street, in the city center of Bucharest.
Although it was designed as an extension of the existing
Bucharest Stock Exchange Carol Tower may function in-
dependently as a mixed-use building.
The conceived building with 35 floors may include commer-
cial spaces at its first three floors and a series of restau-
rants at its first and second level. The last three levels of
the building may accomodate luxurious apartments of 200
sq-m and a panoramic restaurant .
The building through its shape and height may represent a
major landmark in the skyline of Bucharest.

In accordance to the client's brief, the building will be


developed in Floreasca Lake area, in the Northern part of
Bucharest. The materials and colors have been carefully
chosen to create a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere
even on cold, grey winter days. The whole design intends
to maximize the sense of space and communication,
providing areas for relaxing. This interior relaxing area
continues with exterior relaxing platforms, facing the lake.
This private area is slightly separated by two
accommodation places. One provides the clients with
generous bedrooms, bathroom and study areas, while the
other one offers quests suites. Two different houses, with
the same primary functions, define each of them the sense
of duality.

Hipodrom Residential Towers is a residential project,


currently at development stage, that will bring new vitality
to this place.
The masterplanning proposes 2 buildings, each of 13
floors, offering a new type of architecture for the city. The
buildings consist of a large variety of apartments from
studios to 4 bedroom apartments. The last two floors were
designed to offer two - floor apartments with large room
areas, ample terraces and a beautiful panorama over the
city. Green spaces and playgrounds for children, as well as
underground parking lots are other important aspects of
this new residential compound.
The use of materials and the design suggest that the
buildings evolve towards lightness and freedom of forms.

RECONSTRUCTION OF IMOD-
IMOD - SA

The IMOD SA building, in Louis XVI style, built on 3 floors


and an attic, was a well-known Fashion House in old times.
Adest Architecture has proposed a complete reconstruction
(structural reinforcement and extension), keeping and
revitalizing the valuable elements, while the non-valuable
elements will be replaced with new ones realized in a
contemporary style. The transformation will be achieved at
all the floors where the space will accommodate a variety
of luxurious fashion brands. The third floor will have a new
metallic structure, while the attic, rebuilt on a metallic
structure as well, will host a restaurant. The faade will
keep all the decorative elements while the missing ones
will be remodeled after photographic documentation. A
palette of modern materials will be used to be faithful to
the original scheme of the building. The transformation
into a new luxury multi-story retail building may impose it
as a major architectural landmark within the city centre.

The new development, situated in Voluntari area, on


approximately 58,000 sq-m, has all the attributes of a
genuine residential compound (green areas, semi-public
spaces, wonderful view, peacefulness and fresh air).
The 34 houses and 10 buildings with 4-5 floors were
designed to have natural lighting, generous terraces, easy
access and privacy as well.
Stefanesti Compound looks like a piece of contemporary
residential quarter with a wide range of facilities that are
offered to the future clients: a commercial area, a
kindergarten, restaurants, children playground and parking
areas.
The multi-functional residential compound is a must-have
for each who appreciates the comfort and the beauty of
nature .

Strauss Office Building is a class A office located in the


Northern part of Bucharest with two entrances from parallel
streets.
The building has a concrete structure and its faade is
curtain-wall type with semitransparent grey-green glass
and gray-petrol granite.
The offices are open-space type, making the employees
feel like important parts of the overall operation of the
company.
At the last floor there are successive covered terraces
where relaxing moments can be shared.
