Examples of Internal and External Communication Barriers:

Barriers of communication can be external or internal. Some
examples of external communication barriers include a phone ringing,
planes flying over, and birds chirping. Some examples of internal
communication barriers include social anxiety, poor listening skills, and
disinterest.

Strategies for Overcoming These Communication Barriers:

One strategy for overcoming internal communication barriers is to
try to convince yourself to get out into the social world. Another way of
overcoming this barrier is to talk to people with the same interests as you.
One strategy for overcoming external communication barriers is just to
ignore it.

Who has the greater responsibility- the receiver or sender?

Both, the receiver and sender, are very important aspects to a
organization but the receiver has a slightly bigger responsibility than the
sender. This is because without the receiver, the sender could not get vital
feedback and criticism from the audience.

What is the most important form of communication? (speaking,

writing, listening, and reading)
The most important form of communication is listening because if
you dont have people listening, you wont get criticism back and you cant
improve.

If you receive no feedback on what you are doing, how do you

interpret this response?
I would interpret this response by identifying that whatever I was
doing to before was not appealing to my intended audience. Also, I would
do research on how to better get my message out to the public.

How could reading skills help me be successful in the medical

field?
Having reading skills in the medical field could help me better
understand medical literature to help diagnose and treat patients.

Analysis of My Communication Challenges

Although Im a good listener, I tend to stay quiet even if my thoughts
could contribute to a discussion. My writing is sometimes hindered by
hesitating to freely write my thoughts down. Both of these
communications barriers can be overcome by having more confidence in
expressing my thoughts verbally and written.

Decide

1. If I was a sales representative for this company, I would

personally call Mr. Park. Due to him seeing him impatient with
me last time I visited, a phone call would be less intrusive, but
would bring immediate awareness to the sales campaign.
2. If I were Maria, I would tell my director about what I knew
about this man. I would do this through a face to face
conversation with the director, because this is a serious matter
and requires urgency and clarity.
