Choosing a Major
If you are uncertain about your major, you are not ALONE!

3 out of 4 students across the country are not certain of their major when they enter college.

Requirement from the university/college

Deciding your major plays a bigger role in determining what you will earn than deciding

to go to college

Align a college major to a person's skill set

It is more important to choose a major that brings out a persons strengths.

laying the foundation for establishing the initial directions of your young adult life.

Dont have to worry too much about your job opportunities

In order to make a major decision, you need three things:

3.commitment

Why should you major in Education?

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Complete student teaching
- certification/licensure
- Continue for a Masters degree
- Not required but recommended
a. a student must obtain at least 3.0 throughout their time in the department.

b. Also, they will need to complete something called TA hours.

c. During their sophomore year they will be required to spend 100 hours observing a

classroom of the grade level they would like to teach in. the following year they will

have to complete an additional 250 hours as a Teacher Assistant, being active with

the students and assisting the teacher with lesson plans throughout the year.

4.Professors for Health and Allied Health Specializations:Compensation for these instructors average $103,340 a year.

5. Engineering Professors:Annual wages can top $100,000 in top-tier universities with the pay rate scaled down for
junior colleges and trade schools.

6. Economics Instructors:average compensation of $89,540 per year.

7. Registrar and Financial Aid Counselors:salary range for these positions can top $90,000 at the high end and $42,000
at the low end.

8. Superintendent of Schools:annual salary ranges from a low of $133,000 to $196,000.

9. School Principals:pay scale ranges from $86,970 to $129,480 annually

10. Assistant Principal:Assistant principals can gross $66, $66,697 to $89,406 per year.
