rcakra kaula nysa ||

CAUTION: The entire procedure is as per tanstra stra-s and is recommended only for
couples. Those who perform this ritual should have been initiated into Mahoa Mantra.
No one should be allowed except the kaulini and the Guru or husband as the case may be.
This should be done only to those kaulinis who are also initiated into Mahoa.

The procedure comprises of the following:

1. Awakening kundalini (various methods are used to awaken kundalini)

2. Tying of yellow raka in her left wrist pratisara bandha

3. Tying of red colour kaistra around her waist

4. Navakl mantra nysa

5. Then kaula nysa procedure begins.

REQUIREMENTS: A kalaa, pacaptra, sesame oil, sandal paste, turmeric powder,

kumkum, red colour thread, yellow colour thread, flowers, milk, rose water, three small
vessels, powdered condiments, lukewarm water for giving bath, towels to dry, two seats
one for bath and one for doing worship. Both these seats should have no back rest and should
have enough space to sit and hold both the feet. There will be 118 nysa-s in total.

1. Awakening kundalini:

This is applicable to only those whose kundalini is not activated. Kundalini is to be activated
from the base chakra and taken up to sahasrara through the back (through the spine) and
brought back to the base chakra through the front side. Each chakra should be worked upon
both on the back and front. Even after this, kundalini is not activated, then one has to work on
her clitoris, the actual seat of kundalini to awaken it.

2. Tying of pratisara bandha:

Take a yellow colour thread (red colour thread can also be taken, provided it is thin). Have
sacred ashes in a plate and run the thread through sacred ashes by chanting tryambakam
mantra several times. Then tie it in her left wrist by chanting Gayatri mantra. This is to be
removed after the entire ritual is over.

3. Tying of red colour kaistra around her waist:

The length should be long enough to tie around her waist. Hold the thread in the right palm
and chant Durga Suktam. After this, tie it around her waist. This also should be removed after
the entire ritual is over.

1. Introduction:

According to Bhvanopaniad, ri Cakra represents human body. Kaula nysa is a procedure

to invoke nine varaa akti-s in different parts of kaulinis gross body. Nysa procedure
begins with anuj, Gaea pj and sakalpa.

Anuj

i) Anuj means permission. Before proceeding with kaula nysa, we have to take
permissions from nine Yogin-s, who preside over the nine varaa-s of ri Cakra. Without
their permissions, performing kaula nysa would be futile. By taking flowers in both the
palms and after reciting the following mantra place the flowers on the ri Cakra placed in
front of her yoni.

om ai hr r samasta prakaa gupta guptatara sapraduaya kulottra nigarbha

rahasytirahasya parparti rahasya yogin devatbhyo nama ||

Purification of body:
4

By reciting this mantra, touch thumbs to little fingers then both the palms, forearms, elbows,
knees and the entire body.

om ai hr r ai hra astrya pha ||

Permission from Dakimrt:

To obtain permission from Dakimrt, following mantra is to be recited. There are two
different verses, one for Dakimrt and another for Bhairava (this Bhairava is different
from Bhairava, which refers to iva.) Apply sandal paste and kumkum in her heart chakra on
the front side.

a)

b)

a) om ai hri r rguro dakimurte bhaktnugrahakraka |

anuj dehi bhagavan kaula nysa yajya me ||
b) om ai hri r atikrra mahkya kalpntadahanopama |
bhairavya namastubhya anuj dtumarhasi ||

Meaning and purpose:

a) O! Dakimrt paramaguru, O! Compassionate to all the devotees! Please give me

permission to perform this kaula nysa yajya. This means that kaula nysa yajya is
compared to great yaja-s like avamedha, etc.)

b) Appearing like fire during annihilation, having fearsome appearance, obeisance to You.
Please give me permission to perform kaula nysa yajya.

In Dakimrt, dakia refers to creation, sustenance and annihilation carried out by

Sagua Brahman (Brahman with attributes) and amrti refers to Nirgua Brahman (Brahman
without attributes). This explains Dakimrt.

Prapratih:

There are three verses and by touching the Kaulini with right hand the following mantras are
to be repeated.

i)

sacred rivers, fulfilling all desires, all types of mantras, sacred and traditional doctrines, holy
places (ketra technically means geometrical dimensions with astronomical and astrological
implications and holy places; ketra also means body), grammatical treatises in the form of
mantras that are communicated through initiations orally, all holy places and temples,
blissfulness and knowledge.

4. vhana mantra-s:

vhana means invitation or invocation. By using certain mantras and mudras, the Divine
Couple are invited from within to be seated in the midst of ri Cakra along with Her retinue.
Following is the mantra. This should be done on her navel.

4 hsrai hsklrm hsrau | mahpadmavanndaste krananda vigrahe | sarvabhtahite mta

Place the flowers now being held in trikha at her yoni. Now the Divine Couple are seated
in ri Cakra. If they are contemplated well within and properly invited to be seated in the
midst of ri Cakra, at the time of taking Their seat, subtle resonances can be felt in her body.

In order to pay our respects first, we are now showing some mudras to them and these mudras
are known as vhana mudras. These mudras are used to stabilise our invocation. For each of
the following mantras, there are mudras. 4 is to be added before each of these mantras.

5. Upacra

For this, first a kalaa is to be established. Fill the kalaa with water and mix a small pinch of
turmeric powder, sandal powder and premixed condiment powder. Now, place the right hand
on top of the kalaa and chant this mantra.

Vedas together with all their branches dwell within this water. Holy rivers Gaga, Yamun,
Godvar, Sarasvat, Narmad, Sindhu and Kveri are present in these waters.)

Continue to hold the kalaa with right palm and recite mlamantra eight times. Now show
dhenu mudra over the kalaa. Take some water with uttarai and sprinkle (prokaa) all over
the pj items and over the self. This is known as uddhisaskra () or
purification rites.

(Dhenu mudra: Join the fingers of both palms, connect little fingers with ring fingers and
connect index fingers with middle fingers. Join the thumbs and make these intertwined
fingers to face down. This mudra is for making the water in kalaa as amta or nectar.)

This kalaa water should be used at the end while bathing her.

4 - mla sarvnandamayacakrevaryai rlalit Mahtripurasundaryai Parbharikyai

nama| (offer sandal paste, turmeric paste and flowers at sahasrra. Offer flowers by
repeating moola mantra 28 times at sahasrra)

Purification of Kaulini of all her sins:

At the end of this, mix milk, saffron and honey. Using an uttarani, take this and drop 14 drops
each from both the nipples. This should be collected in a vessel and kept separately and
offered to the kaulini at the end of puja.

7. dhpa:
21

(Dhpa is subtly explained. In the fire, when aromatic powder is added, fragrant fumes come
up. Fire is explained as Brahman, aromatic powder is explained as oblations of our
karmendriya-s and jnendriya-s; when attachment to the material world is annihilated, then
the fragrance of the Self is revealed.)

Aroma of dhpa should not be strong and should not be shown at Her face. While offering
dhpa, dhpaptra should be kept away from Meru / ri Cakra and Her idol as they are live
due to proper and devoted performance of navvaraa pj.
