Ship­to­ship(STS)transferoperation–Itisanoperationwherecrudeoilor

petroleumproductsaretransferredbetweenseagoingshipsmooredalongside

eachother.Suchanoperationmaytakeplacewhenoneshipisatanchoror

whenbothareunderway.Ingeneral,theexpressionincludestheapproach

manoeuvre,berthing,mooring,hoseconnecting,safeproceduresforcargo

transfer,hosedisconnectingandunmooring.
