    SCRIPTURE: LUKE 16:19-31

    THEME: WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE?

    THE BIBLE TRACES THE SOUL OF MAN FROM CONCEPTION INTO ETERNITY- THE SOUL OF MAN
    DOES NOT ACTUALLY BEGIN ON EARTH BUT IN HEAVEN.

    Ecclesiastes 12:7, “Our bodies will return to the dust of the earth, and the breath of life (spirit)
    will go back to God, who gave it.”

    At the moment of conception- when life is begin God places the soul or spirit in that body- as
    long as we live-physical bodies is the dwelling place of the spirit.

    2 Corinthians 5:1, “For we know when this tent we live in- our body here on earth- is torn
    down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which
    will last forever.”

    All souls who die, goes to the place what the Bible identifies as hades.

    Hades- it is the dwelling place of the dead. It’s a kind of holding areas for disembodied spirits-
    both the righteous and the wicked goes to the Hades.

    INTERMEDIATE STATE- We refers to the state of a man between the time of his physical death
    and final resurrection
    WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT ARRIVE? On that day there will be a
    bodily resurrection.

    John 5:28-29, “Do not be surprised at this; the time is coming when all the dead will hear his
    voice and come out of his graves: those who have done good will rise and live, and those who
    have done evil will rise and be condemned.”

    John 11:25-26, “Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me
    will live, even though they die: and those who live and believe in me will never die.”

    DO WE GO TO HEAVEN WHEN WE DIE? The Bible did not mention we go to heaven after we
    die- the Bible mentioned it “resurrection”.

    What is paradise? Is it Heaven?

    Yes it is heaven- but not the final resting place in Heaven. We must go before God’s Great
    White Throne Judgment at the end of the time and He will take all the believers to the final
    heaven to live for eternity.

    Is Hades hell? Yes but not the final hell, just like paradise is not the final heaven. They are
    waiting for the final judgment from God.
