Summary Of Astrology : The Vedang

Question arises how/where Astrology was developed and how much time it took to
develop the same or still being developed.

The same has been answered with the help of Oue Vedas (Our Heritage) which can be
classified under 2 Schemes.
1) Vedic Scheme
2) Vedic Universee

Vedic Scheme:
Vedas are the reposisitories of all the knowledge which in older times was with our
Rishis and it used to stored in memory only.
No textbooks exist during that time.You needed some intellectual level to able to
understand the same.
"Shruti" and "Smriti" were the ways to remember the large volume of data (In Rhyme
Form).

For people who are not so much intellectual the same was translated to story based
learning ie .Upanishads and Bhashyas.
The 2 most popular purans are Ramayana & Mahabharata where stress has been on the
stories for uplifting ,humanising angle.

Rig Ved has 30 shlokas on astrology which only few can comprehend.

Vedic Universe:

There are 4 Vedas

1) Rig
2) Yajur
3) Sam
4) Atharva

Six Vedang:
1) Shiksha
2) Kalpa
3) Vyakaran
4) Nirukta
5) Chhanda
6) Jyotisha

Bharata is considered karam bhoomi where karam phal is obtained since gods wish to
take birth here.
Svarga is the bhoga Bhoomi.

Also to reference, Jambu Dweepa is the center of all these and in the center it has
golden mountain (Meru).
Meru has four cuntries:
1) Bhadravasa (China)
2) Bharatavarsha
3) Ketumala
4) Uttrakuru

We have 9 planets(Vedic) and sun is the soul of the universe.
