You wouldn’t buy a new car from a dodgy car salesman,
so why risk your life by buying armour from some stranger
over the internet?
Remember armour can prove the difference between life and
death - take your time and make the right decision.
Never be afraid to ask questions, whether you are Police,
Security, Military or press, your needs are all different - protection
levels must be correct or you might as well put on a T-shirt.
When buying armour you must make sure that these three vital
steps are met;
1. The armour must be HOSDB or NIJ standards - this means that
it has been tested and certificated to meet the UK Government or
USA National Institute of Justice standards (it means that it does
what it says on the tin!!)
2. Is the armour new? Buying new armour means that you know
its history. Second hand or reconditioned armour could have
been damaged or abused, therefore it harbours many risks.
3. Sizing, one size fits all... Rubbish! Obtaining armour that fits
well will only benefit you. Would you wear a pair of shoes that
didn’t fit? - No they would be uncomfortable, so why buy armour
that doesn’t fit? Getting body armour fitting correctly is a must for
comfort, performance and durability.

HOSDB, NIJ and German Police. These facilities
allow S.A.T. to develop new products quickly
and economically. We are able to evaluate new
materials, combinations and hybrids in order to
construct and fine-tune armour systems to meet
customer specifications.
S.A.T. also has the facilities and expertise of
the SIOEN NV Technical Department which
is fully equipped with a wide range of textile
testing equipment. The Technical Department
technologists are available to carry out project
work and give technical advice about many aspects of fabrics, assembly
techniques and production methods.
The test facilities include a knife testing rig, which is capable of testing to
the HOSDB, German Police (Technische Richtlinie Schutzwesten) and ISO
knife test protocols.
