BATTERY CHARGER AND BATTERY CHARGING. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The battery charger of type No.434 and type No.437 is “fast charger” using two different modes of, charging. Initially the unit will charge with a high current until the battery is charged, and then it reduces to a trickle charge mode until battery is removed. The normal charging time for an empty battery, is approximately 3 hours for charger type 434 and approximately 5 hours for charger type 437. The battery charger is designed not to damage the battery even with long continuous charging. INSTALLATION ‘© The battery charger must be mounted in a vibration free area inside the cab or indoors and be protected against damp, direct sunlight and temperature variations. © Operating ambient temp: 0 to +80 degree Celsius, lower depending on Battery specification, Battery Art No.590 to No.592 and 594 =0 to + 45 degree Celsius. (charger type 434) Battery Art No.593 = 0 to + 45 degree Celsius. (charger type 437) ‘+ The supply voltage to the battery charger should be +10 VDC to +35 VDC - externally fused with 3.0 Amp fuse. ‘Polarity for the connecting cable: Inc Marked Cable = + ‘+ Power consumption for batlery charger: Without battery: = 10-20 mA With battery: © 400md (max) * After connecting the cable connector - Put the cable inside the cable track as illustrated. / N (-) Ribbed (Striped on the surface) c ranean nena ae Lo OPERATION The battery charger will start a charge cycle when a new battery is inserted (green LED starts blinking).
