Abstract

This dissertation has been focused on the rights of the children, protection of the rights and
the International Mandate taken to strengthen the national mechanisms. In doing this work it
is found that there are almost thirty-five different statutes to save the rights of the children.
Among those The Children Act 1974 is vital one which is prepared to control penal policy,
ensuring custody and treatment of the children. In this work welfare part has been
overviewed. In Bangladesh so many steps have been taken to protect the rights of the
children. Besides that rights are not protected. In 1990 a declaration was signed under the
initiation of the UN. Bangladesh as a signatory of the declaration needs to be committed to
protect the rights.
