When cable glands are installed into threaded enclosures without IP washer and without locknut, is
the complete IP rating maintained (as specified on the cable gland)?
When enclosures or cable glands are tested, the IP ratings only apply to either the enclosure or cable gland and it cannot
be assumed that a combination of the IP66 cable gland and IP 66 enclosure will provide an IP 66 installation, unless the
testing included the specific cable gland and enclosure combination.

Why use nylon washers instead of fibre washers?

In general within the UK it is customer preference. The plastic washers or fibre washers have advantages in different
corrosive atmospheres. The plastic washer is limited to temperature below 80°C if this is a problem, and you would not
install them in temperature less that 5°C but would be OK once they are installed at below these levels to -40°C.
