SOLUTION OF LINEAR SYSTEMS

Exercise 1

Consider the following linear system of equations:

4 x1 + 6 x 2 + (− 10)x3 = 0

 2 x1 + 2 x 2 + 2 x3 = 6 (1)
 1x + (− 1)x + 4 x = 4
 1 2 3

1. solve (1) using the following numerical methods:

i. Gauss elimination;
ii. LU factorization;
iii. Craut's method;

2. compute the inverse of the coefficient matrix of (1).
