[ENG] TS Studio, based in Madrid
since 1990, relies on a multidiscipli-
nary team with extensive experien-
ce in Emotional Architecture and
Design. The studio stands out for
its curiosity towards the designing
of energetic spaces and for being
involved in ephemeral architecture,
graphic design and product design

projects. Projects derive from emo-
tion and feelings with the aim of
provoking similar reactions on and
for the inhabitants of these spaces.
Sapey’s Team is, therefore, expert
in developing projects imbued with
a delicate sensitivity that clearly
emerges through the built spaces.
Humor, color and harmony arise
from the interaction with people as
well as within the space’s purpose.
The philosophy of the studio talks
about freedom of thought and ex-
pression. Combining properly crea-
tivity, functionality, art and design,

the resulting spaces communicate
very neat ideas. Teresa Sapey’s Stu-
dio is, in addition, the only one in
the world specialised in beautifying
non-spaces such as underground
areas, parkings, walks, tunnels and
railways. Alongside re-thinking and
re-designing non-spaces, the stu-
dio has also distinguished itself by
beautifying over-ground parkings
and walkways, illuminating public
streets, ideating projections for spe-
cial occasions, and also for giving a
soul to the functional spaces of the
urban modern landscape - which,
normally, are not considered aes-
thetically valid.
[ESP] El estudio TS, con sede en
Madrid desde 1990, cuenta con un
equipo multidisciplinar especializa-
do en arquitectura y Diseño Emo-
cional. El estudio destaca por la
curiosidad que ha ido desarrollando
hacia el diseño de espacios enérgi-
cos y por su involucración en la eje-
cución de proyectos de arquitectura
efímera, diseño gráfico y diseño de
producto. Los proyectos nacen con
el objetivo de provocar emoción
y sensaciones en los usuarios de
estos espacios y productos. Por lo
tanto, el equipo Sapey es experto en
el desarrollo de proyectos imbuidos
por una delicada sensibilidad que
emerge a través del espacio cons-
truido. Humor, color y armonía bro-
tan tanto en la interacción como en
la relación con la gente, siendo ésta
una de las finalidades del espacio.
La filosofía del estudio habla de li-
bertad de pensamiento y expresión.
Combinando adecuadamente crea-
tividad, funcionalidad, arte y dise-
ño, el resultado espacial comunica
ideas muy claras. El estudio se dis-
tingue por ser el único en el mundo
especializado en el embellecimien-
to de espacios urbano considerados
“no-lugares”, parkings, pasarelas o
túneles, así como, instalaciones de
iluminación en vías públicas, expo-
siciones efímeras. En general, por
dar vida los espacios funcionales
del paisaje urbano contemporáneo.

drid dal 1990, conta con un’equipe
multidisciplinare specializzata nello
sviluppo di Architettura e Design
emozionali. Lo studio si caratteriz-
za per la curiosità che ha sviluppato
per il design di spazi energetici e
per il suo coinvolgimento nei cam-
pi dell’architettura, il design grafi-
co e di prodotto. I progetti nascono
dall’emozione e dai sentimenti con
l’obiettivo di trasmetterli sugli utenti
di cosiddetti spazi e prodotti. Dun-
que, l’equipe Sapey è esperta nello
sviluppo di progetti caratterizzati da
una sensibilità particolarmente de-
licata la quale emerge chiaramente
attraverso lo spazio costruito. Umo-
re, colore e armonia sbocciano sia
nell’interazione e nel rapporto sta-
bilito con la gente e sia nello scopo
dello spazio in se. La filosofia dello
studio parla di libertà di pensiero e
parola. Combinando adeguatamen-
te creatività, funzionalità, arte e de-
sign, il risultato spaziale comunica
idee molto nitide. Inoltre, è l’unico
al mondo specializzato nell’abbelli-
mento degli spazi urbani conside-
rati non-luoghi come, per esempio,
spazi sotterranei quali parcheggi,
tunnel, sottopassaggi e ferrovie. In-
sieme al ripensamento e ri-design
di non-luoghi, lo studio si distingue
anche per l’abbellimento di par-
cheggi e sentieri sovrastanti, ins-
tallazioni di luci nelle vie pubbliche,
proiezioni per occasioni speciali e,
soprattutto, per dar vita agli spazi
del paesaggio urbano contempora-
ne.

[ENG] Teresa Sapey graduated from
the Polytechnic Faculty of Turin in
1985 and, soon after, obtained a BA
in Fine Arts (BFA Parson School of
Design, Paris), specialising in de-
sign, development and ergonomics
of the work-environment. In 1986,
Teresa obtained her recognition and
qualification to practice architec-

ture professionally. The same year,
Teresa won a scholarship, awarded
by the Ministry of Public Instruc-
tion of Rome, to attend an MA in
the Architecture of Workspaces and
also obtained the CEAA (Certificats
d’Études Approfondies en Architec-
ture) at UPA6, University of Paris –
La Villette. In 1990, Teresa founded
the Studio, which is named after
her, in Madrid. Since 1999 she is a
member of the RIBA (Royal Institute
of British Architects, London). Tere-
sa Sapey combines her professional
career with teaching; has collabora-

ted with the Faculty of Architecture
La Villette in Paris; and, has held
a series of conferences and wor-
kshops at the Domus Academy in
Milan, among others. In addition to
this, the architect collaborates as
lecturer for Camilo José Cela Uni-
versity (Madrid), with a workshop in
plastic research and is also a guest
Professor for the MA course in “De-
sign & Architecture” at the Polyte-
chnic University of Madrid, since
2004. In addition to the above, since
1989, when she took part in the first
world-wide congress in Architectu-
re of the Working and Commercial
Spaces, in Sweden, Teresa Sapey
has given various conferences and
lectured at several congresses.
The architect has also been a guest
observer at the Biennale di Archi-
tettura, in Venice (2007), and has
participated at the first Worldwide
Congress of Creativity within the Is-
lamic Community, which was held
in Dubai in 2008. The Studio works
for various public and private insti-
tutions and collaborates with diffe-
rent design and art professionals.
In 2004, Sapey actively contributed
in the project of the Silken Puerta
de America hotel, alongside Zaha
Hadid, Norman Foster, David Chi-
pperfield, Jean Nouvel, Ron Arad
and Arata Isozaki. In 2005, she won
the competition price for the best
shop-design in Madrid: Custo Bar-
celona Flagship Store. In 2008, the
studio designed the first ecologi-
cal and sustainable parking in the
world, which is located in Valencia
and where it is possible to rechar-
ge cars with a very simple electri-
cal connection. Teresa Sapey’s work
has been published in the most re-
nowned national and international
magazines. Sapore Sapey (Electa
Mondadori, 2004), is a monogra-
phic collection which synthesizes
10 years of architectural production
and achievements by the Studio
Sapey. In 2007, the architect won
the Wallpaper Young Breakthrough
Designer of The Year prize and, in
2008, the Woman Together prize re-
ceived by the United Nations in New
York. In 2009, Marie Claire (Italy)
named her among the 10 women
whom will change the world and
was also awarded the commenda-
tion of Cavaliere della Repubblica by
the Ordine al Merito della Repubbli-
ca Italiana. In 2010, Teresa received
another prize, by AD magazine, as
“Best designer of the year”, as the
architect had taken care of the ur-
ban ‘non-spaces’. In the same year,
Electa Mondadori, also published
the second monographic collection

[ESP] Teresa Sapey estudia en la
escuela Politécnica de Turín donde
se gradúa en 1985. Poco después,
obtiene el grado en Bellas Artes en
la Parson School of Design de Paris,
donde se especializa en diseño, de-
sarrollo y ergonomía de los espacios
laborales. En 1986, Teresa obtiene
el título de arquitecto. El mismo año
gana una beca concedida por el Mi-
nisterio de Instrucción Pública de
Roma para estudiar un Máster en
arquitectura de espacios laborales.
Al mismo tiempo, obtiene el CEEA
(Certificats d’Études Approfondies
en Architecture) en la Facultad de
Arquitectura La Villette en Paris
(UPA6). En 1990, abre en Madrid el
estudio que lleva su nombre.
A lo largo de su carrera, la arquitec-
to también se involucra en el sector
educativo realizando varias colabo-
raciones con La Villette de Paris y
participando en talleres y eventos
llevados a cabo por la Domus Aca-
demy en Milán. Además, es docente
en la Universidad Camilo José Cela
de Madrid, donde imparte un taller
de investigación plástica y, desde
2004, es profesora invitada en el
Máster de diseño y arquitectura en
la Universidad Politécnica de Ma-
drid.
Desde 1989, año en el que Tere-
sa participa por primera vez en el
Congreso Mundial sobre arquitec-
tura del trabajo y de los espacios
comerciales en Suecia, ha conti-
nuado participando y presidiendo
numerosas conferencias en todo el
mundo. En 2007, Teresa es invitada
como observadora de la Biennale de
Arquitectura de Venecia y en 2008
participa en el Congreso Mundial de
la Creatividad en las Comunidades
Islámicas en Dubái.
El estudio ha trabajado con múlti-
ples instituciones públicas y priva-
das, además de realizar diversas
colaboraciones con diseñadores
y profesionales del arte. En 2004,
Sapey participa activamente en el
proyecto del Hotel Silken Puerta de
América en Madrid, junto a recono-
cidos arquitectos como son Zaha
Hadid, Norman Foster, David Chi-
pperfield, Jean Nouvel, Ron Arad o
Arata Isozaki. En 2005 gana el con-
curso para diseñar la Flagship Store
de Custo Barcelona en Madrid gra-
cias a su innovadora propuesta. En
2008, el estudio proyecta el primer
parking ecológico y sostenible en el
mundo construido en Valencia, en
el que es posible cargar los coches
eléctricos.
El trabajo de la arquitecto ha sido
publicado en numerosos medios
tanto nacionales como internacio-
nales. En 2004, Electa Mondadori
publica Sapore Sapey, una mono-
grafía que sintetiza el trabajo al que
se ha dedicado el estudio durante
los primeros diez años. En 2007,
Teresa gana el premio de Wallpaper

ejecución del Palacio de Congresos
del EUR, diseñado por el Arquitecto
Fuksas. A finales del 2009 funda el
estudio de arquitectura Lamazeta,
donde gana varios concursos
y construye una Comisaría de
Policía en Ciudad Real y aborda la
restauración y cubrición del ábside
de Sta María de Atienza en Huete
entre otros proyectos. En el 2012
se traslada a Madrid y comienza
su colaboración en el estudio de
Teresa Sapey, donde participa
en muchos de los proyectos más
importantes del estudio como
son el Hotel Roommate Bruno en
Rotterdam, varias oficinas Svenson
o el Gimnasio ABC en Madrid.

Leonardo e si trasferisce a Roma
per tre mesi per contribuire alla
realizzazione del Palazzo dei
Congressi di euro, progettato dall’
architetto Fuksas. Alla fine del 2009
ha fondato lo studio Lamazeta, con
il quale ha vinto diversi concorsi e
costruisce una stazione di polizia a
Ciudad Real e affronta il restauro
e la copertura dell’abside di Santa
Maria de Atienza a Huete tra gli altri
progetti. Nel 2012 si trasferisce a
Madrid e inizia la sua collaborazione
presso lo studio di Teresa Sapey,
partecipando a molti dei più
importanti progetti dello studio,
come l’ hotel Roommate Bruno di

DESIGNER
[ESP] Nacido en Madrid, estudió
arquitectura de interiores en la
ETSAM, a Escuela Técnica Superior
de Arquitectura de Madrid donde
acabo sus estudios en el año 2010.
Desde el comienzo de sus estudios
y hasta 2012 formó parte del equipo
de Estudio Erico Navazo. Realizando
proyectos de decoración y reforma
de viviendas privadas, tiendas,
restaurantes y Hoteles. Como por
ejemplo Las Cortes de Castilla y
León en 2007,las promociones
inmobiliarias Mergara la Finca, y
Paseo de La Habana. A comienzos
de 2013 colabora con Alberto Marcos
y su estudio AMPS en el desarrollo
del proyecto arquitectónico Aravaca
Village, uncomplejo hotelero y 2014 la loro collaborazione nello
gastronómico situado en Madrid.
En 2014 comienza su colaboración
en el estudio de Teresa Sapey
donde participa en el desarrollo de
proyectos como Hotel Indigo Madrid,
espacio Lounge de Estrella Damm,
clínicas Svenson en Madrid, Palma
de Mallorca y Barcelona, Hotel Petit
Palace Santa Barbara y el hotel
Roommate Bruno en Rotterdam.
