webometrics can be a useful tool in the analysis
and improve- ment of knowl- edge discovery
systems.
Thelwall, Vaughan and Bjorneborn (2005)
define the webometrics as the quantitative study of
all phenomena relacio- swims the Web, such as

rela- tion to its scientific production, with study
opportunities in this area.

tudiosos relatam que os estudos webométri- cos são
úteis em vários sentidos. Dhiman (2010) sugere que os
repositórios podem ser fontes importantes de
indicadores sobre a produção científica. Aguillo et al.
(2010) desenvolveram indicadores para ranquea-
mento de repositórios baseados nos estudos
webométricos e outros, expandindo a ideia da
webometria.
Shintaku, Robredo e Baptista (2011) sugerem
que os indicadores tradicionais we- bométricos podem
ser ajustados especial- mente para os repositórios, em
que a visibi- lidade e a luminosidade podem ser
medidas pelos inlinks e outlinks, respectivamente. Com
isso, verificar as relações entre o repo- sitório e a web,
fornecendo subsídios para verificar a efetividade do
repositório. 3 METODOLOGIA
The present study has mixed

apresentou duas citações com links para o repositório
da FURG. Todos os ou- tros apresentaram links únicos
por documento. Os resultados revelaram que o tipo de
documentação mais referenciado nos repositórios
avaliados foi o artigo publicado em periódico, com 15
citações com link re- metendo ao repositório da FURG.
Nota-se que, geralmente, artigos, na sua grande maio-
ria, são citados remetendo a revista. Nesse caso, esse
indício, pode indicar que os arti- gos foram publicados
em revistas pagas ou não disponibilizas online. Assim,
revela a

Se os artigos são os documentos mais
citados, a dissertação é o tipo de do- cumento que
mais citam documentos do acervo do RI da FURG,
seguido de teses e TCCs, como apresentado na figura
1. A au- sência de artigos e de outras tipologias de
documentos revela a predileção dos estudos de
graduação e pós-graduação nos acessos aos
documentos do acervo do repositório da FURG.
Revelou-se, também, um crescimen- to das
citações com links, visto que docu- mentos defendidos
em 2012 somavam três citações com links, em 2013
subiu para seis e em 2014 foram dez. Esse crescimento
po- de ter relação com a popularização dos re-

Com relação aos outlinks, levantou-se 32 links
contidos nas referências, sendo que o repositório mais
referenciado foi o Lume, vinculado à UFRGS, com 20
links, sendo que apenas um TCC apresentou quatro
links para esse repositório. O segundo repo- sitório
com mais links foi o de Teses e Dis- sertação da USP
com oito links. A quanti- dade de outlinks ainda se
apresenta em per- centual pequeno em relação à
quantidade de

A figura 2 ilustra os resultados quan- to ao
tipo de documentos que citam o RI- FURG.
citações, mas pode apresentar bons indícios de
relacionamento.
Destaca-se que o tipo de documento que mais
cita documentos em outros reposi- tórios são os TCCs,
com 15 ocorrências. Da mesma forma, também são os
mais referen- ciados com 13 ocorrências. Assim,
apresen- tam indícios que os autores de TCC são os
grandes usuários de repositórios de outras instituições,
pois tanto citam quanto são citados, revelando a
importância dos reposi- tórios para documentação que
há pouco era restrita. Notou-se um crescimento nas
citações de documentos de outros repositórios, pois, se
em 2012 foram apenas três citações, em 2013 subiu
para oito e em 2014 foram nove. Explicita-se que
documentos e o depósito em repositórios, que depende
da capacidade de processamento técnico da equipe do
repositório. 5 CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS

Ressalta-se que o presente estudo é
preliminar, não objetivando ofertar todas as explicações
no que se referem relações por meio dos links nas
citações. O assunto reve-
la um desafio, visto que os repositórios da FURG e da
UFRGS, muito provavelmente pelas relações entre
docentes, possui maior número de inlinks e outlinks.
Outro ponto a se considerar é a di-
namicidade do acervo dos repositórios, com depósitos
diários, que impõe certos desafios aos estudos. Assim,
o presente estudo apre- sentou um cenário pontual
sobre a webo- metria do RI da FURG, focada nas
referên- cias, no início de 2016, que pode sofrer mu-
danças com o passar do tempo e novos de- pósitos
ocorrerem nos repositórios. Por fim, contribui-se com
os estudos voltados ao RI e seu papel de coletar, gerir,
manter documentação da instituição, ofertando ser-
viços.
