ISO 9000-

This is a set of international standards that contains the requirements for building basic
quality management system. The original edition of ISO 9000 standards consist of five
documents-
1. ISO 9000- It has a preamble, definition of terms, and instructions on how to use the
rest of the documents.
2. ISO 9001- It was used with the system of the largest scope, in which the
organisation’s responsibilities included finding the needs of the market, design the
product to meet those needs and making, delivering and helping in the product
installation and use.
3. ISO 9002- It is applicable when products are made according to customer’s design.
4. ISO 9003- Applicable when the function was only distributing products designed and
made by another organisation.
5. ISO 9004- Contains guidelines on how to establish a quality management system that
is specified, through the “requirement”, in ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 9003.
A quality management system could be certified by independent auditors, upon
verification, that the system satisfies the requirement.

8. Mutually beneficial supplier relationship
ISO 9001:2008
It has a set of criterions as defined in the standards and any organisation, large or small
irrespective of area of business of activity can get certified post adhering to the standard
requirement.
