Secure ME Software

Introduction:

The Secure ME software which helps to prevent access by facilitating the user to lock and unlock
application like Adobe, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and game software in the local system. It also has
password protection for installing and uninstalling this software. To protect a device, you must
first enter the password and then lock or unlock the device. After Installation the software can be
executed by clicking the Secure ME icon shortcut from System Tray.

Steps to be followed to install the Software:

1. On inserting the Secure ME CD, the Auto run program will display setup dialog for
proceeding installation. To click the install Secure ME link shows in Fig (1).

2. The Installation program will detect whether .NET Framework 2.0 is installed in your
machine and if not you can install it first using the same setup shows in Fig (2).

3. If there is .NET Framework 2.0, click on the Install button to install “Secure ME”.

4. Finally to close the page click on Exit. Enter Password and Hint for Secured installation
and Uninstallation purpose shows in Fig (7).

5. Shortcut for the Software can be seen in Desktop. Secure ME icon will be loaded in the
System Tray. The user can Right click the system tray icon and select Open, the GUI
window to get the options listed below. Fig (8) and Fig (9).

Operational Steps

1. By selecting the application from the list of application list box then click the Lock
button with password production to lock the application. Enter the installation password
to lock the application Fig (10), Fig (11), Fig (12) and Fig (13).

2. By selecting the application from the list of application list box then click the Unlock
button with password protection to unlock the application. Enter the correct password to
unlock the application Fig (14), Fig (15) and Fig(16).

3. Right click on the system tray icon clicking “Change Password” option. This feature is
used to change the Software installation password. User should enter the old password
and set the new password for Password change Fig (17).

4. Select the About Menu from System Tray. It shows the following screen.

Uninstallation

1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs ->Secure ME.(For Xp)
Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> Secure ME (For Vista and
Windows 7)
2. To uninstall the Secure ME software, enter password first and it will automatically release the
locked software during uninstall.

3. If incorrect password is entered for more than 3 times, Security hint Option gets displayed.
Enter the hint (Enter the password hint provided by the user after installation) and press
Apply button to Uninstall the Software.
4. While Uninstalling the Secure ME software the following prompt shows.

 Press “yes” to complete the uninstallation and remove the dll from the
system.
 Pressing “No” retains the dll in the system. (But continues to remove the
Secure ME software).
