………… ………… … ……… … OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER NOTES… … …… …...…………….
Home for the Holidays: The Thunder looks to get its seventh consecutive victory as the team hosts the Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow night in the third
matchup of a four-game homestand. Oklahoma City has won five of their last six games against Milwaukee and averaged a point-differential of +12.5
across those contests. Dating back to the start of the 2009-10 season, OKC has gone 254-83 (.754) at home, which stands as the second-best home
record in the NBA during this span. OKC has won eight of its last nine games with the sole loss coming on the second night of a back-to-back following a
triple-overtime victory.
December to Remember: Oklahoma City has gone 12-3 so far in the month of December and currently ranks second in the NBA for the month (Golden
State). The Thunder has also accumulated the most rebounds (688), most steals (134) and third-most blocks (80) out of any team in the league this month.
Additionally, OKC tops the league in second chance points (226) and points off turnovers (262) for the month.
Win the Week: Russell Westbrook was named Western Conference Player of the Week for the 16th time in his career for games played Dec. 18-24. In this
week, the Thunder went 4-0 and posted a 100.5 defensive rating with Westbrook on the floor. This would represent the best in the league if it were
maintained over the course of the season to this point. This week Westbrook averaged 29.8 points on 59.8% shooting along with 9.0 rebounds, 9.5 assists
and 2.50 steals. He also recovered the most loose balls (13) and tied Paul George for the second-most deflections (24) on the week.
Turnover a New Leaf: Oklahoma City leads the league in both steals per game (9.97) and opponent turnovers per game (17.3). The Thunder has yet to
finish within the Top 5 in the NBA in these categories since they moved to Oklahoma City as their previous season bests were 8.28 steals per game in
2012-13 and 15.2 opponent turnovers per game in 2013-14. Additionally, the Thunder tops the NBA leaderboard for deflections per game (18.2), forced
turnovers on 17.9% of opponent possessions, which tops the league, and recovers the most loose balls each game (9.2). The Thunder is also ranked fourth
in the league with a defensive rating of 101.6. Paul George ranks first in the league in deflections per game (4.9), in steals per game (2.48) and is second
in loose balls recovered per game (1.8). Russell Westbrook has recovered the most loose balls each game (2.0), is second in steals per game (2.09) and
is fourth in deflections per game (3.4).
Elite Company: Since the start of the 2009-10 season, the Thunder has won five Northwest Division titles, reached the Conference Finals on four occasions,
the NBA Finals once and amassed a record of 438-237 (.649). Based on winning percentage, the Oklahoma City Thunder ranks as the fourth most winning
team among the four major professional sports (NBA, NFL, MLB & NHL).
BEST RECORDS SINCE 2009-10 SEASON (includes NBA, NFL, MLB & NHL teams)
New England Patriots .776 (111-32)
San Antonio Spurs .725 (489-185)
Green Bay Packers .662 (94-48-1)
Oklahoma City Thunder .649 (438-237)
Leaders of the Pack: The Thunder has three players in the Top 5 league leaders as Paul George has the most steals per game (2.48), Russell Westbrook
is first in the NBA in assists per game (10.0) and Steven Adams has the third-best field goal percentage (.645, 176-273 FG). Additionally, Westbrook is
second in terms of steals per game (2.09), 14th in rebounds per game (9.3) and 13th in scoring (24.0) while Adams is 17th in rebounds per game (8.9).
We Swish You a Merry Christmas: After downing the Rockets 112-107 on Dec. 25, OKC holds a 6-2 record when playing on Christmas Day. Russell
Westbrook is one of five players to register a triple-double on Christmas (LeBron James, Billy Cunningham, John Havlicek and Oscar Robertson) and is
tied with Scottie Pippen for the most steals (24) while ranking seventh in assists (68). Among active players, he ranks fourth in points (190), and eighth in
rebounds (58). Additionally, Carmelo Anthony ranks second among all active players in points per game (31.0).
Adam(s)ant About Scoring: Steven Adams ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (.645, 176-273 FG) and scored in double figures in seven
straight games from Dec. 1-13, a career best. In three games from Dec. 1-5, totaled 66 points off 28-for-34 shooting. On Dec. 1 vs. Minnesota, Adams went
11-for-11 from the field and 5-for-5 from the charity stripe, matching the second-best shooting performance from the field in Thunder history after Serge
Ibaka’s 12-for-12 on Jan. 31, 2014, and setting a new career-high with 27 points. He is also the only player in NBA history besides Chris Mullin on Dec. 1,
1990 to be perfect from both the field and free throw line with at least 11 and five attempts, respectively. On Nov. 20 at New Orleans, Adams scored his
2,500th-career point, making him one of just two players since he was drafted in 2013 with as many points and at least 300 blocks and 200 steals in less
than 8,000 minutes (Mason Plumlee). He scored in double figures in 23 games and led the team in rebounding 12 times while posting 11 double-doubles.
Triple-Double Down: In the Dec. 23 victory over Utah, Russell Westbrook registered his 11th triple-double of the season and 90th of his career with a team-
leading 27 points, game-best 10 rebounds and game-high 10 assists. In the Thunder’s 110-91 win over the Bucks on Oct. 31, Westbrook produced his
fourth with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, making him the only player in NBA history besides Oscar Robertson to record at least four triple-doubles
in the first seven games of the season. Westbrook notched his third triple-double of the season and first against Chicago on Oct. 28 at Chicago with 12
points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists, making him the only player in NBA history to log a triple-double against all 29 other teams in the league. On Oct. 19
vs. New York, Westbrook logged his 80th career and first opening night triple-double with 21 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds, joining Oscar Robertson
as the only other player in NBA history with at least 20 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in a home opener. This makes him one of ten players in league
history to record a triple-double on opening night (LeBron James, Jason Kidd, Chris Duhon, Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen, Fat Lever, Larry Bird
and Lewis Lloyd). His 16 assists are the most in an opening night triple-double in league history. Of the other 29 NBA franchises, 21 have fewer triple-
doubles in their entire team history than the 90 that Westbrook has logged in his career and Oklahoma City is now 9-2 when Westbrook registers a triple-
double. ALL-TIME NBA TRIPLE-DOUBLE LEADERS
Oscar Robertson: 181
Magic Johnson: 138
Jason Kidd: 107
Russell Westbrook: 90
Wilt Chamberlain: 78
Larry Bird: 59
Stealing the Show: Paul George and Russell Westbrook are currently first and second in the league in steals per game with 2.48 and 2.09, respectively.
Since steals became an official statistic in 1973, the Charlotte Bobcats’ Gerald Wallace (2.51) and Brevin Knight (2.28) are the only pair of teammates to
finish the season at one and two.
Russdiculous Performance: Russell Westbrook led the league in scoring last season (31.6 points per game) and through 35 games this season leads the
NBA in assists (10.0 assists per game). No player in NBA history has ever led the league in scoring and then assists in consecutive seasons.
Analytics Corner: Throughout the Thunder era, Oklahoma City has always been on the cutting edge of analytics and advanced statistics. Throughout the
2017-18 season, Thunder Basketball Communications will provide the media with various data points and advanced basketball metrics.
• The Thunder is forcing turnovers on 17.9% of opponent possessions which leads the NBA
• Just 16.8% of opponent field goal attempts and shooting fouls drawn are in Transition which is first in the NBA
• Oklahoma City tops the league with an offensive rebounding percentage of 27.4
• The Thunder ranks fourth in the NBA with a 101.6 Defensive Rating and sixth in Net Rating with 3.0
………… ………… … ……… … OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER NOTES… … …… …...…………….

averages among active players with 24.5 and 22.8, respectively. Additionally, Westbrook has the second-best career usage rating in NBA history (32.64)
behind Michael Jordan and the fourth-best career assist percentage (41.9). Among active players, Westbrook has the fifth-highest career average for

apart as the only player in the history of the NBA with at least 200 blocks, 5,000 rebounds and 15,000 points within his first 700 games.
Comeback Kids: Oklahoma City came back from 20 points down in the second quarter to earn a 102-101 overtime victory over the Grizzlies on Dec. 9.
This ties the second-largest comeback victory in Thunder history from March 29, 2015 at Phoenix, just after the 21-point comeback on March 29, 2017 at
Orlando.
Blue Review: The Thunder’s G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue is off to a 10-10 start this season after downing the Northern Arizona Suns (Phoenix
Suns affiliate) 120-114 on Friday, Dec. 22. Oklahoma City has a defense that ranks second the G League in opponent turnovers per game (19.8) and in
steals per game (11.00). Two-way player Daniel Hamilton has led the team in assists in 17 of 20 games and is second in the league in assists per game
(8.2). Hamilton has also notched a league-leading six triple-doubles this season, including three straight from Nov. 18-24. Additionally, guard Markel Brown
was selected to Team USA for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifier.
Not Taken for Grant(ed): On Dec. 20 vs. Jerami Grant blocked his 300th-career shot, which makes him the only player since he was drafted in 2014 to
have at least 1,800 points and 300 blocks in less than 70 starts. Additionally, on Dec. 3 vs. San Antonio, Grant played his 100th game in an OKC uniform,
making him the only player in Thunder history besides Serge Ibaka to log at least 600 points, 250 rebounds and 90 blocks in his first 100 games.
ThundeRuss Birthday: On Nov. 12, Russell Westbrook celebrated his 29th birthday with a 112-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. He stands as just one
of three players in NBA history with at least 15,000 points, 5,000 assists and 4,000 rebounds before age 29 along with Oscar Robertson and LeBron James.
Abrinesolutely Amazing: On Dec. 9 at Memphis, Alex Abrines set a new career-high with 20 points (7-10 FG, 6-8 3FG) en route to scoring his 500th-career
point. This makes him just the fifth player in Thunder history with at least 500 points, 37% shooting on 100 threes and 50 steals within his first 100 games
(Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kevin Martin and Anthony Morrow).
You’ve Been Hit by a Smooth Carmelo: On Nov. 25 at Dallas, Carmelo Anthony scored 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from distance to pass Ray Allen on the
NBA’s all-time scoring list. Anthony now ranks 22nd (24,753 points) and third among active players behind Dirk Nowitzki and LeBron James. Anthony is
also one of six players in league history alongside Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki and Paul Pierce to record 24,000 points, 6,000
rebounds, 2,500 assists, 1,000 steals and 1,000 three-point field goals and the only one besides Patrick Ewing to start in each of his first 1,000 games.
NBA ALL-TIME SCORING LIST
20. Jerry West 25,192
21. Patrick Ewing 24,815
22. Carmelo Anthony 24,753
23. Vince Carter 24,636
24. Ray Allen 24,505
Finishing Touches: The Thunder recorded seven consecutive wins that were decided by six points or fewer from Dec. 1-18. This marks the longest such
streak in wins in franchise history, ahead of a four-game streak from Jan. 12-26, 2011.
Blue October: The Thunder wrapped October play with a three-game road trip that ended with a 110-91 win over the Bucks on Halloween night. This win
was their second straight 19-point or better win, marking just the third time in Thunder history that the team has won consecutive road games by 19 points
or more. In the three games from Oct. 28 - Nov. 3, the Thunder allowed an average of 36.7 points in the first half and held opponents to 42 or fewer points
in the first half of those games, which is the first time since Nov. 14-18, 2014 that they have done so.
Opening Night: Oklahoma City tipped off its 10th NBA season by taking on the New York Knicks on Oct. 19 at Chesapeake Energy Arena, which marked
the club’s 300th consecutive sellout. In this game, Oklahoma City held New York to the lowest opponent opening night score in Thunder history (previous
low was 86 points against the Spurs on Nov. 1, 2012). The Thunder now holds a 9-1 record in home openers, which is tied for second-best in the league
since the 2008-09 season (Miami, San Antonio) behind Portland’s 10-0 record. They also now hold a 7-3 opening night record while going 3-0 under Head
Coach Billy Donovan.
Preseason Basketball: The Thunder wrapped up preseason play with a Tuesday night contest against the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center in Denver, where
they won 96-86. This matchup was the fourth and final game of Oklahoma City’s 10th preseason, following games against Houston, New Orleans and
Melbourne United of Australia’s National Basketball League. The Thunder now holds a preseason record of .500 or better in seven of the eight last seasons.
100 for Billy: Last season, Billy Donovan notched his 100th career victory to become the first head coach in NBA history to win 100 games in the first two
seasons after coming immediately from the college ranks. Moreover, Donovan is one of three current NBA head coaches to win 100 wins in two seasons
with their current respective franchise (Carlisle and Kerr). In all of NBA history, only 18 coaches have won 100 games in their first two NBA seasons as
head coach. Additionally, Donovan became just the third first-year head coach in the last 15 years to win 55+ games during his first season.
Triple-Double Dip: To cap off his MVP season, Russell Westbrook registered his NBA-record-setting 42nd triple-double of the season on April 9, 2017 in
Denver (Oscar Roberson tallied 41 triple-doubles during the 1961-62 season). Trailing 103-105 with 2.9 seconds left, Westbrook connected on a game-
winning 36-foot 3-point field goal to also become the only player in NBA history to post three 50-point triple-doubles in a single season. Furthermore, he is
the only player in NBA history to register seven consecutive triple doubles on two separate occasions during a single season. Westbrook also posted five
straight 30-point triple-doubles last season to become the only player in NBA history to ever accomplish the feat. To put further perspective on Westbrook’s
triple-doubles, there are 11 NBA teams that have amassed fewer triple-doubles in their entire team history as compared to the 42 logged by Westbrook
last season.
OK3: The trio of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony combined for 5,992 total points last season, which is the most by any other set of
three teammates in the league this year. They are followed by Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Jimmy Butler (5,810 combined
points) and Cleveland’s Isaiah Thomas, LeBron James and Derrick Rose (5,307 combined points).
MOST COMBINED POINTS LAST SEASON BY CURRENT TRIO
Russell Westbrook 2,558 Paul George 1,775 Carmelo Anthony 1,659 5,992 total points
Karl-Anthony Towns 2,061 Andrew Wiggins 1,933 Jimmy Butler 1,816 5,810 total points
Isaiah Thomas 2,199 LeBron James 1,954 Derrick Rose 1,154 5,307 total points
………… ………… … ……… … OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER NOTES… … …… …...…………….
Summer Lovin: Over the summer, the Thunder acquired two perennial All-Stars in Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. Anthony is a 10-time All-Star who
started in eight of those ten games and George started in two of his four All-Star appearances. Anthony also earned the honor of NBA scoring champion
for the 2012-13 season along with his six All-NBA selections. George was named the 2012-13 most improved player in the NBA while earning three All-
NBA and three All-Defensive selections himself.

Fun and Olympic Games: This year’s Thunder squad contains three Olympic gold medalists for Team USA including Carmelo Anthony (2008, 2012, 2016),
Russell Westbrook (2012) and Paul George (2016). Additionally, Carmelo Anthony holds the title of all-time leading scorer for the United States Olympic
Men’s National Team. Oklahoma City also has two Olympic bronze medalists in Carmelo Anthony (2004) and Alex Abrines (2016) who played for Spain.

Paul in a Day’s Work: On Dec. 27 vs. Toronto, Paul George grabbed his 3,000th rebound and on Dec. 13 at Indiana he snagged his 800th-career steal,
making him the only player since he was drafted in 2010 with at least 3,000 rebounds, 800 steals and a three-point percentage of .370 or better. In that
same timeframe, he is one of just five players with at least 8,000 points in 400 starts or less alongside Damian Lillard, Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving and
Kemba Walker.

20/20 Vision: On Oct. 28 at Chicago, Carmelo Anthony recorded a game-leading 21 points, making him the first player in Thunder history to score at least
20 points in his first six games with Oklahoma City. He has also led the team in scoring six times and logged four double-doubles.

Around the World: Oklahoma City is undefeated when hosting international teams at Chesapeake Energy Arena following their 86-85 win over Melbourne
United on Oct. 8. This marked the third time the Thunder has played host to an international squad in Oklahoma City. Previously, the team welcomed
Fenerbahce Ulker in 2015 (W, 111-81) and CSKA Moscow in 2010 (W, 97-89). Oklahoma City now holds a 5-1 preseason record against international teams
as they have also played at Fenerbahce Ulker in 2013 (W, 95-82) and made a trip to Spain last year where they faced Real Madrid (L, 142-137) and FC
Barcelona (W, 92-89).

OKC is Fan Friendly: The Thunder once again played in front of a packed house at Chesapeake Energy Arena on opening night vs. New York on Oct. 19,
recording its 300th consecutive sellout (including both regular season and playoffs). Oklahoma City was also named first in the league in fan experience
following a league-wide audit last season and ranks third in the NBA in local TV ratings, fifth in season ticket subscriptions and renewals, and seventh in

Boards are the Barometer: The Thunder closed out the 2016-17 season as the leading rebounding team in the NBA (46.6 rpg). OKC went 20-3 last season
when outrebounding the opposition by 10 or more. Additionally, the Thunder led the NBA with respect to points in the paint (49.9 per game). OKC went 12-
2 when scoring 60+ points in the paint.

In the Clutch: Throughout the 2016-17 season, Russell Westbrook continued to be very effective in “clutch” late game situation as he connected on four
go-ahead field goals in the final 10 seconds, which was the most in the NBA. (“Clutch” is defined as the final 5 minutes of regulation and overtime when
the score is within a five-point differential). Below are several of Westbrook’s ranks in those late-game situations last season. During the Thunder’s win
versus the Grizzlies on Feb. 3, 2017, Westbrook scored the last 15 points of the game to become the first player since Michael Jordan (11/21/97) to record
the final 13+ points of a game. Additionally, Westbrook set a career high by scoring 21 fourth quarter points during the Thunder’s win versus New Orleans
on Feb. 26. More recently, after trailing by 13 with 3:31 in regulation, the Thunder scored 14 unanswered points to defeat Dallas on Mar. 27 (Westbrook
scored 12 of the Thunder’s final 14 points). Two nights later, Westbrook scored 26 points during the fourth quarter and overtime as OKC rallied from a 21-
point deficit to defeat the Magic on Mar. 29. Westbrook capped-off his clutch play this season, by connecting on the game-winning 3-point field goal as
time expired on April 9 in Denver (Westbrook outscored the Nuggets himself 13-2 in the final 2:30).

Home Cooking: Since arriving in Oklahoma City in 2008, the Thunder has always taken pride in defending its home court. Oklahoma City finished the 2015-
16 season with a home record of 32-9 (tied for 4th best home record in the NBA). Included in that, OKC went an impressive 23-3 at Chesapeake Energy
Arena that year when facing Western Conference opponents. Dating back to the start of the 2009-10 season, OKC has gone 254-83 (.754) at home, which
stands as the second-best home record in the NBA during this span.

Sustaining Success: In the past eight seasons, OKC has compiled the second-best record in the NBA (behind San Antonio). After the 2008-09 season in
which Oklahoma City won 20 games after a 3-29 start, the Thunder found ways to improve the club in each of the four subsequent seasons. With a 60-22
record during the 2012-13 season, Oklahoma City became just the second team in NBA history (Boston, 1955-1960) to increase its winning percentage
for five consecutive seasons (while maintaining a winning percentage of .700 or better in two of those seasons). On March 24, 2016, the Thunder claimed
a 22-point home victory over the Jazz and in the process, OKC recorded the team’s 50th win of the season. Oklahoma City has now finished with a winning
percentage of .610 (equivalent to 50 wins) six times dating back to the 2009-10 season. Only the San Antonio Spurs (eight seasons with .610 or better
winning percentage), have reached that benchmark more during this period. After finishing the 2016-17 season with a record of 47-35, OKC is now one of
three teams (Houston and San Antonio) to maintain a .500 or better record in each of the last eight seasons. The chart to the below illustrates the
development of the Thunder program through the years.
Season Winning % Playoff Finish
2016-17 .563 (47-35) Lost in first round
