Configuration steps to setup the Airspan WiMAX

Outdoor Unit (ODU)

A. In the Box

1. ODU (Airspan MiMAX Pro V-Series)

2. POE Adapter

B. Physical connections

1. Plug in the POE Adapter to a power source using the power cable

2. Using a LAN cable, connect the POE unit with the ODU

Warning: the POE unit supplies power to the ODU via the Ethernet port labeled “OUT”.
Only the ODU is to be connected to this port. Connecting any other equipment to this port
will damage the equipment!

3. Connect the ODU to a computer using another LAN cable connected to the port labeled “IN”
in the POE unit
C. ODU Configuration

1. Open up any internet browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc) and in the address
bar type 10.1.1.254
Page as in the following snapshot appears. Type in admin in the Username and admin in the
Password and Login

2. The following page appears. Click the WiMAX button on the top left to configure the
frequencies for the ODU. The X shows that the device is not yet connected.
3. Now under the Start/Stop WiMAX table, hit the Stop button to disable the WiMAX Radio.
And then hit the Edit button under the Channel Table to add the frequencies.

4. Delete the default frequencies using the Delete buttons. And then use the Insert button to
insert the frequencies.
5. The WiMAX frequencies for Nepal Telecom are six as shown in the following snapshot. Make
sure that the bandwidth is 5Mhz and the Enable button in selected for each frequency. And
hit Apply.

6. In the left hand menu, select the Authentication tab to enter the Username and Password
(user@ntwimax.net.np used as an example). The settings should be as in the following
snapshot. Hit Apply to save settings.
7. The following window appears. Hit Reboot to reboot the ODU with the changes made.
8. After the ODU reboots, the login page appears again. Use admin/admin to login to the ODU.

9. The following page appears. The shows that the ODU is connected to a WiMAX signal.

Next Step is to configure the TR-069 settings in the ODU that is explained in the next page.
10. TR-069 Configuration
The TR-069 will allow the device to be upgraded (if required) remotely. Press the
Management button on the top right of the page to go to the TR-069 tab. The info needed is
follows:

TR-069 Active Flag enable


ACS Server URL http://202.70.89.51:8080/ftacs-basic/ACS
ACS Username tr069
ACS Password tr069
Inform Enable enable
Inform Enable 3600
Connection Request Username ftacs
Connection Request Password ftacs

After the info has been entered, hit the Apply button to save the settings. The device
will have to reboot for the settings to take effect.
