Job Procedure 1. Isolate the DP transmitter from the process for maintenance and calibration

 Removing the 5-Valve Manifold DP Transmitter from Service

The DP transmitter with a 5-Valve manifold can easily be removed from service using the steps
outlined below:
a) Close the HP block valve
b) Close the LP block valves
c) Open the equalizing valves.
d) Open the bleed valve to vent process pressure to the atmosphere or to a drain line provided

 Removing the 3-Valve Manifold DP Transmitter from Service:

The DP transmitter can be removed from service using the steps outlined below:
a) Close the low-pressure block valve
b) Open the equalizing valve
c) Close the high-pressure block valve

2. Ensure all the materials needed for the calibration are within reach (e.g HHC475, meters, pressure
source, pressure gauge, Digital multi-meter, power supply module 24Vdc, etc)

3. Record and put down the following (can easily be sourced from transmitter nameplate or hook-up
the HHC475):
o Transmitter make and model
o Transmitter calibration range
o Transmitter range
o Transmitter MWP(Maximum Working Pressure)

4. Connect all the equipment needed for the calibration exercise in the appropriate manner. To
ensure you don’t make any mistake, you should draw a connection diagram for all equipment
involved paying particular attention to polarity of transmitter and power source! Then connect
them according to the connection diagram shown below:

5. Using the calibrator with its hand pump and tubes connected; exercise the pressure transmitter
sensor by applying 50% of the calibration range for at least 5 mins to check for leaks. Observe
transmitter display and HHC475 for pressure drop, if clear, proceed to next step.
6. Apply the test points in increasing and decreasing manner with minimum interval of five (5)
seconds per test point to obtain the stabilized reading. Apply 0, 25, 50, 75, 100% (increasing and
decreasing) accordingly and check for STD vs. UUT reading correctness. Record readings obtained
as AS FOUND reading. If the transmitter is found still accurate, no need to do adjustments. If
transmitter needs to be adjusted or ZEROED, follow next steps.

a) Connect the communicator to the loop terminal of instrument. Check polarity.

b) Switch On the communicator
c) Select Field bus application
d) Select Online

A message is displayed: There could be a data mismatch; changes made with 475 may not be
recorded in the HOST system database. Ensure all safety precaution and work procedure has
been followed.

Do you want to proceed?

Select Yes

Wait till Instrument tag list is displayed

e) Select the device tag from the displayed list.

f) Select transducer block (T0-1).
g) Select configuration/calibration
h) Select block mode.
i) Select block mode target.
j) Select OOS and AUTO
k) Select OK and SEND

A warning is displayed: Process control could be affected; changing the mode and or block
parameter of this device could adversely affect the control of your process.

Do you want to apply the changes?

Select YES and Go to Step- 6 (transducer block menu)
