Frog Classroom Programme

Before you start your makeover
ASSIGN TASKS/JOB ROLES

Nominate a Project Manager and let us know here. Please include school name, school code, project
manager name, telephone number and e-mail address. The Project Manager will oversee the entire
makeover process.

SETUP FROGSITE

Please use the template at Frogsite

DRAW OUT A PLAN/TIMELINE

Use the Frog Programme Checklist and plan out your makeover by creating a schedule of identifying the
various tasks and assign a timeline for each task.

Create individual task teams and create job roles for each team member.

WHAT IS THE FROGSITE?

The Frogsite is a platform for you and your school to document the makeover process, from start to finish.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Through the Frogsite, we are able to provide feedback and assistance while you do your classroom
makeover.

WHO UPDATES THE FROGSITE?

The Project Manager, Head Master or any other teacher involved in the Frog Classroom Programme.

HOW REGULARLY DO I UPDATE THE FROGSITE?

It is important that you make update after every stage (there are 3 stages in total).

Stage 1: Preperation Work

ASSIGN TEACHERS / PARENTS

We recommend 10 people for this task (e.g.. 5 parents & 5 teachers)

CLEAR AND REPLACE OLD FITTINGS

1. Clean walls of all staple pins/tape marks/ scribbles/ dirt


2. Patch holes in walls
3. Level flooring using cement
4. Replace soft board with frame (back)
5. Replace white board with frame (front)
6. Replace naco frames and broken/missing glass panels
7. Install polycarbonate to seal ventilation grills

We recommend that this takes 3 days

Stage 2: Mechanical and
Electrical (M&E) Work

HIRE ELECTRICIAN

An electrician needs to be hired to carry out the M&E work in the school. Please present the schematic to
the electrician

ELECTRICAL WORK SCOPE

1. Lighting: Check if the fluorescent lights are in good working condition. It is recommended to use
double tube lights (36W)

2. Fans: Since classroom are air conditioned, it is advised to remove all the fans in the classroom

3. Additional Power Points: Each classroom should have a minimum of seven (7) power points (13
AMP) throughout the classroom with one power point for the projector on the ceiling

We recommend that this take 2 days

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Total of 10 people needed (eg. 5 teachers & 5 parents)

2. Purchase Jotun paint and paint brushes from recommended shop

3. Please follow the schematics closely to avoid having to repaint the classroom

We recommend that this takes 4 days

GUIDELINES FOR PAINTING

• All walls must first be painted with Jotun- Wall Primer-ultra primer

• All woodwork must first be painted with Jotun- Timer Primer Gardex Primer

• All woodwork to be painted with Jotun- White-0001- Gardex Gloss unless stated otherwise

• All MS security grille must be painted with Jotun- Light Grey-7044- Morgan Tone Gardex Gloss

• All pin up soft board timber frames to be painted with Jotun- Flamboyant 2050-R30V-Gardex Gloss

TIPS FOR PAINTING

• Choose the correct sized brush: use big rollers for large surfaces (such as walls) and thinner brushes
for narrower surfaces (such as window frames)

• Use masking tape to get straight lines: for the front/back walls, place masking tape on wall before
painting and then gently remove the tape after the paint has dried

• Cleaning your brushes:

I. Never soak your brushes overnight – this will harden the brushes making them unusable

II. Don’t use rollers for gloss paint as it is very hard to wash off

III. Wash brushes under running water, but thinner is required to wash away gloss paint

• Upon completion, please notify us at YTL Foundation at ytlfoundation@ytl.com.my

• In your e-mail, please include your school name, school code, completion date and the link to your
Frogsite for review

• To ensure a smooth review process, please ensure that you follow the Frogsite guidelines and
complete the Frogsite in full

• Upon successfully reviewing your classroom makeover, we will send you the tables, chairs and air
conditioners (please note that you have to hire someone to install the air conditioners)
