Me and Renewable Energy

In this era, the energy is everthing because its can support the development for humans
life. In principle the energy is still using fossil fuels so it can cause pollution on the earth. . The
processing of fossil fuel produces air and environmental pollution in humans life. The residual
of the burning of fossil fuels is one of the contributors of carbon gas that will affect the climate
on earth.
Fossil fuel pollution can be reduced by the renewable energy. The new renewable energy
is a energy that produces zero emissions so it is very good to be applied as an energy supplier.
The Sourcing of renewable energy can be processing from water, sun, and waste processing.
Solar and water energy is a continuous source that can be an alternative energy. Concerning
the processing of solar and water energy, I participated in the activities of solar cell use and
design of PLTMH. In addition, proper waste processing can be a source of energy.
The Efforts have actually been made in Lampung University regarding the utilization of
new and renewable energy such as the development of PLTS, PLTMH and plans for the
construction of Waste Power Generation (PLTSa).
Indonesia is a country whose territory almost all year gets solar energy, including
Lampung University where I currently become one of the students that is in Electrical
Engineering Department Faculty of Engineering, Lampung University. In the Lampung
University had used of PLTS to applied various application such as for street lighting, for finger
print machine and as alternative energy source in Pasca Sarjana of Lampung University’s
building.
The implementation of renewable energy in Lampung University, I had done to involved
the planning , installation and maintenance. The activity that I had participated was involved
in research of my lecturer on the installation of PLTS as a source of energy in the finger print
machine in Faculty of Engineering -Lampung University and until now the machine is still
sourced from PLTS and I always participate if there is a maintenance schedule.
This activity is very excited in terms of my involvement in the use of energy that was a
low carbon energy in the campus environment of Lampung University.
My another participated of utilized energy, I had also participated in the utilization of a
small river that has a fairly strong water that can be utilized as a source of energy that had not
been access by PLN so that to supply energy can use river as energy for PLTMH (micro hidro).
I did a part in the planning of PLTMH in the village so if we want to utilize energy of water in
the river, we also must think more aspects that influenced of it.
In addition, waste in Lampung University dont have of processing causes waste more
and more everyday. Waste that more and more everyday without any behavior to process it
will cause pollution and disease nest. Waste can be managed as an energy source, the waste
content managed will produce a gas that can be used to rotate the turbine to generate energy.
In the research of waste utilization as a source of energy, I have also participated in assisting
senior students who work on the final task of feasibility study of waste into energy in TPA
Bakung. Many things that I get so I want to do a reseach to conduct a study on the construction
of a waste power plant in Lampung University.
Hopefully my hope of this can be a reality.
