Jordan Howard is a student at Montana State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition with a Dietetics emphasis. She has a 3.83 GPA and is scheduled to graduate in May 2018. Jordan has worked as a Nutrition Associate at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital since August 2017. She also has volunteer experience working with children with diabetes and disabilities. Review diet orders and collaborate with dietitians and nurses to ensure that nutrition delivery corresponds with patients’ medical and nutrition diagnosis Camp Montana Volunteer Counselor August 2017 American Diabetes Association, Fishtail, MT Responsible for 26 campers ages 8-12 years old, all with Type 1 Diabetes. Provided routine blood sugar checks (throughout day and again at 2AM) and treatment for highs and lows. Counted carbs for campers at each meal and snack and taught them to begin and/or master counting carbs independently. Acted as a member of an interprofessional collaborative team consisting of PAs, nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians. Core Group Leader April 2015 – May 2016 Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT Co-lead a women’s bible study group every Wednesday night and helped coordinate main group service every Tuesday night. Responsible for the preparation of planned studies and discussion and hosted group meetings and dinners. Served at major group conferences, events, and weekend retreats. Mentored each woman on a weekly, one-on-one basis and acted as a source of accountability and support.
