Camp Montana Volunteer Counselor August 2017
American Diabetes Association, Fishtail, MT
 Responsible for 26 campers ages 8-12 years old, all with Type 1 Diabetes.
 Provided routine blood sugar checks (throughout day and again at 2AM) and treatment for highs and
lows.
 Counted carbs for campers at each meal and snack and taught them to begin and/or master counting carbs
independently.
 Acted as a member of an interprofessional collaborative team consisting of PAs, nurses, pharmacists, and
dietitians.

 Co-lead a women’s bible study group every Wednesday night and helped coordinate main group service
every Tuesday night.
