Job Description
Position Overview
This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, dynamic, product development environment to
develop compressor components for industrial gas turbine engines at Siemens Energy in Orlando, FL. The scope of work
includes participation in the following major component development phases; (i) conceptual development (ii) prototype
development, manufacturing & testing (iii) basic design & analysis (iv) detailed design & analysis (v) manufacturing
development & qualification (vi) engine testing & validation. The position is situated within local component group and
reports to local group lead within a global department setup.
Responsibilities
• Participate as aerodynamicist member of a global component team designing, optimizing and testing of axial compressors
• Develop/optimize/validate software tools for post-processing analysis results
• Creation and evaluation of compressor maps and stability along with Aerodynamic Design
• Analysis of Compressor blading and flowpath
• 3D flow analysis and 3D optimization of compressor airfoils
Requirements:
• Must be highly motivated.
• Must have exceptional inter-personal skills and enjoy working with colleagues from different
organizations.
• Good understanding of gas turbine fundamentals.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including good presentation skills.
• Bachelors of Science in Engineering or more advanced engineering degree.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Knowledge in the following specific fields is desired:
-Multistage transonic axial compressor design
-Compressor axial and radial stage matching
-Axi-symmetric meanline and/or throughflow analysis.
-Airfoil aerodynamic design and structural/dynamic tuning.
-3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
-Aerodynamic instrumentation, testing & data reduction.

-CFX
-Programming and optimization
