“Patients Reconnecting with Nature”

This can be achieved by creating a healing environment with the introduction of therapeutic garden. Where nature plays a great role to
reduce stress and improve clinical outcomes. Therefore, the incorporation of more greeneries and gardens will be created for patients
to have a view and also have contact with them.

A therapeutic garden includes aspect that promotes restoration and more than any other types. The purpose of therapeutic garden is
the intent to support the patient’s cure and recovery in the medical environment. It can imply treatment or a remedy with the
expectation of a positive measurable outcome. The function of a therapeutic garden:

 To aid in clinical injury and illness (post-traumatic stress disorder, physical disabilities).
 Provides a positive distraction from illness and concerns.
 Reduce stress and blood pressure, normalize the environment, the setting, offers more real life application for treatment.
 Improves mood, function and socialization.

To provide an easy and proper access for physically impaired person, provide well-proportioned ramps, parking slot, and comfort room
to use at their convenient time. To provide an adequate lighting and ventilation in the building. By applying the courtyard style at the
plan, ventilation and sufficient lighting in each room at the building will be achieved. Circulation of inpatients, outpatients, and the staffs.
Outpatient service has a separate room for treatments and placed near at the public entrance for their safety and convenience. While
the inpatient service is also has a separate room for treatments where these areas occupied the second and third floor. Service
entrance for staffs is also provided. Safety and security of the building and the site placing fences and gate to create a boundary
between the building’s site neighbors for safety and security, and considering the setback at the rear side of the site. Gender-based
rehab where the female and male inpatients room are separated. Including their dormitories, dining area, toilet and bathrooms and the
rest will depend in the schedules of the program in recreational areas to the staffs. Building’s aesthetic installation of high glass
windows where it can catch the attention of public and it could also be the highlight at the building’s facade in symbolism of modernity.
Architectural style, modern contemporary. By achieving a visual emphasis of horizontal and vertical lines, simplicity and clarity of forms
and use of industrially-produced materials.
