ABSTRACT
Studies on the implementation of learning in kindergarten become part of the problem the
problem of improving the quality of early childhood education. This is supported by reports
that the process of learning in kindergarten is more emphasis on the cognitive aspects of the
background of further assessment of the implementation of learning in kindergarten. Initial
studies indicate that there are problems of social emotional competence of children in
kindergarten were characterized by aggressive behavior, temper tantrums, and shy. The lack
of implementation of the teaching model to increase the social competence of kindergarten
children's emotions as well as facts on the ground, learning actualized by frame transmission
patterns (Miller, Seller, 1988) became the basis for developing a teaching model to improve
the social competence of kindergarten children's emotions. This research aims to develop a
learning model to improve the social emotional competence kindergarten children in
kindergarten derby held Serang Banten Province. The method used is a method of research
and development (Research and Development). In general, the stages of this study consisted
of three phases, namely a preliminary study, learning model development and validation of
learning models. The first phase, a preliminary study conducted through a survey of 11 TK
documentation included studies, questionnaires, interviews and observation to get a general
idea about the initial conditions of the study. The survey results are used as a foothold in
developing the initial models to improve the social competence of kindergarten children's
emotions. The second phase is the development model of learning through the application
of models of limited testing in kindergarten (category B) and extensive testing in
kindergarten (categories A, B and C) so that the resulting hypothetical model. Furthermore,
the third phase of the validation test in two kindergartens with a quasi-experimental
methods. Results of the development and testing of the learning model to improve the social
emotional competence of kindergarten children shows that the learning model to improve
the social competence of kindergarten children gave emotional impact on the improvement
of social emotional competence shown with basic competencies and indicators can work
together with a friend, show tolerance, control emotions naturally, knows manners and
decorum, follow the rules, show empathy, respect differences, to share information, and
reward excellence friends. The results also provide accompaniment impact that children
have freedom of activity in the group, receiving the importance of cooperation
independently, accept equality and limitations, increase the child's confidence. Implications
of the research is the result of research can be used as one input model of learning in
kindergarten and the teacher can be adopted with teacher recommendations should enhance
its role as a director, facilitator and motivator to improve the social competence of
kindergarten children's emotions.
