I. Introduction

Nature is God-given gift to every human being. We live because nature gives us very
essential things we need in life from the air we breathe to the water we drink. Indeed,
nature has been sustaining all forms of life. Consequently, it is our outmost responsibility as
human beings to take good care of our environment for our future generations.

The month of June was declared as the Philippine Environment Month. This celebration
aims to awaken Filipinos to become more concern of the welfare of our environment. This
years theme is Connecting People to Nature.

Along with this celebration, the School for the Environment conducted several school-
based activities to promote environmental awareness and consciousness. One of the
activities is the General Clean-up Drive that was conducted last June 16, 2017.Different
environmental contests were also done last June 13, 2017 to awaken the mind of the
students about environmental issues and to test their knowledge about the Philippine
Environment.

The events were poster and slogan making, recycling contest, and environmental quiz.
The awarding of winners happened last June 28, 2017. To teach the students on how to
manage waste, a symposium on proper waste disposal was conducted last June 30, 2017.
