Oral Communication

Description:

This course employs the communicative approach to teaching English for the development of listening and speaking skills and strategies for effective
communication in various situations. It aims to provide the students with the venue for practice and mastery of English as it applies to specific occupations. It
provides for the improvement of skills needed in oral communication. It includes a study of various speech forms, speech production and dynamics in effective
articulation.

General Objectives:

1. Design and perform effective controlled and uncontrolled oral communication activities based on context.
2. Write a 250-word essay of his/her objective observation and evaluation of the various speakers watched and listened to.
3. Demonstrate effective use of communicative strategy in a variety of speech situations.
4. Deliver proficiently various speeches using the principles of effective speech delivery.
