In the coming weeks you are going to conduct an “inquiry.” You will be given a decade from
Canada’s history and you will explore several aspects of that decade.

This project is quite flexible in nature and you can decide to learn a lot about a few things you
found interesting, or learn a little about all of them.

Presentation: 4 PowerPoint slides per decade

Your research findings should correspond to the following list of questions. You need to
organize your information in a way that you record all of your sources (websites, books, etc.).

1) What were the major events of the decade?

● Important people (artist, politician, Indigenous leaders, actors/musicians)
● Big moments (world wars, provinces joining Canada, Canadian Olympics, etc.)
● New inventions: tell us about any major CANADIAN inventions that come from this
decade.

2) What were the styles/trends in:

● clothing/fashion - find examples
● music - share a song clip
● entertainment (movies, films, plays, etc)

3) Technology – any technological inventions, advancements?

● transportation – cars? airplanes? boats? others?
● personal technology – phones? computers? shaving? others?
● electrical – tv? radio? others?
● others?

4) Importance of Canada globally during your decade? Give information about:

● World Leaders
● What was the population of Canada during your decade?
● What was the population of the world during your decade?
● What are 3 countries that were not around from the last decade before yours?

Make sure to include pictures, maps, diagrams to display, that will enhance your presentation.
