I am a autodidact. Possessing a versatile skill set with experience in customer service, sales,
and written and oral communication through my career in teaching. Received a certificate
from the Corp. of National, and Community service for my service to HS students in Pitts-
burgh. Recognized skills in mentoring, and mediating between employees, and in leading
team projects. I am capable of meeting productivity, accuracy and safety work standards in
any environment. I am committed to whatever the task is and will serve in whatever capaci-
ty the job requires.

Experience
HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA AND FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND HEALTH TEACHER, THE NEIGHBORHOOD ACAD-
EMY; PITTSBURGH, PA — 2012-PRESENT
• The Neighborhood Academy is a wholistic, extended day, college preparatory school
located in the Stanton Heights neighborhood in the city of Pittsburgh. Students are
provided with all meals and transportation, as well as a twelve hour day, during which
students are required to participate in an art or athletic activity, as well as evening
study. Evening study provides time for students to finish their homework as well as get
help from faculty.

• Advisor to a group of eighth (8th) and ninth (9th) grade students. This includes com-
munication with them and their parents/guardians, keeping track academically, advo-
cating for them, mediating with other teachers, as well as being a source of emotional
support and encouragement.

• Evening study proctor: oversee and manage a class of students during evening study
by helping with homework and keeping students on task in order to succeed at The
Neighborhood Academy.

• Responsible for developing, planning and instructing courses in Google Applications


and Computer Usage, and Financial Literacy, including Personal Finance, Life After
High-School, and FASFA preparation.

• Maintained accurate records of students, communicated with parents appropriately,


each term I send a letter home to each advisee’s parent to communicate progress and
challenges.
• Collaborated with teachers of similar as well as different disciplines for cross-curricular
opportunities for our students.

• Coordinator for Financial Literacy programs at The Neighborhood Academy: planning


curriculum, working with outside volunteers and companies to help support our stu-
dents, planning trips to NYC to visit the NYSE and Museum of American Finance,
Stock-Ticker Competition Director for eleventh grade to compete in a stock-simulation
program.

• Coached Track and Field (until 2016) and Golf since 2012.

• The Neighborhood Academy operates an extended school year program, and I have
participated in the summer portion for the past twelve years.

• For five weeks, we have an introductory study skills session at The Neighborhood
Academy, and for the fourth and fifth weeks, we attend college tours on a trip through
the Tri-state area.

• Guiding students through Admissions Process by preparing them for the rigors of
study at The Neighborhood Academy (teaching: reading comprehension, time-man-

assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders. Accuracy
of orders picked were near 100%, rates were near the top of all full-time employees.

• Accountable for meeting productivity, accuracy and safety work standards in average
temperatures of -16 to -18 degrees. Required to use a variety of powered industrial
equipment.
