Rationale:
A Point of Sale and Inventory system is a software-based business solution used to
simultaneously track sales activity and inventory. Manufacturers and trade resellers can both benefit
from a thorough solution, where single transaction entry records necessary details on the customer,
products purchased, price and date while also updating inventory levels.

This System is for Alwan Pharmacy Drugstore for the improvement of the manual processing
system with regards to the monitoring of sales and inventory. Businesses at present time are
innovative and competitive. They make their business process transaction into computerized one.
The most commonly used system by the companies today is the sales system and integrates it with
an inventory system.

Alwan Pharmacy is well-known Drugstore in Taguig city. The business sells different items or
product like medicine, school supply, grocery, party needs, gift items, drinks and distilled water.
Alwan pharmacy drugstore is just like an typical grocery store that we can see everywhere or like
some other convenience store. To have more profits Alwan Pharmacy upgraded their store and split it
into two section which is have a good compact to their business but in terms of management they
couldn’t managed it efficiently.

the present Alwan Pharmacy have a problem on managing their inventory, keep record on
sales, track account and manage menus and recipes. Because of some widening of sales in store
adding some items upgrading the local area of store, their existing system which is POS and
inventory can’t keep up their needs of sales and inventory. For their existing system they used it just
for the Item which is related to the pharmacy or drug and medicine. In the other hand their sales items
like grocery, party needs, gift items and school supply don’t have a computerized system so
unfortunately they used only logbook and excel for inventory or a manual system.

The client wants to have another system which is the same to their current system but in the
other side they want to have an upgraded system for the other section of their store which is the
grocery, school supply, etc.

Our aim is to develop a computerized Point of Sale and Inventory system for Alwan Pharmacy
that will help their store minimize the time, effort and manage to increase profit as the main goal of
the proponents of the Alwan Pharmacy.

The proponents now endorse our proposal to make them as our client in developing a system,
as a partial fulfillment requirement of our subject. This system can help them to implement good and
accurate system to their store.
