Dennis, Fran, Joseph, Tommy forged a beautiful friendship over their shared love of
literature, rosé, and butt-stuff. This round-table podcast is a recipe from all their brains,
discussing (and sometimes disagreeing) on everything at the intersection of queerness and
 brownness—from Beyoncé to Borges, politics to peen sizes, Nietzsche to 90s R&B—
combining the best of literary intellect with absolute trash. Like The View, but not terrible.
WHY IS IT CALLED
FOOD 4 THOT?
The podcast’s conception stemmed from a discussion about how literary and intellectual
spaces rarely allowed for conversations about things typically considered—well, not so
intellectual. We loved talking about queer theory, identity politics, and Ta-Nehisi Coates, but
also Mariah Carey’s Vine account, nail polish, and our absolutely filthiest hook-up stories. In
a world where those conversations were so often separated, where could one get both? Thus,
Food 4 Thot was born, a delectable meal of brain food and junk food, giving thots like us a
seat at the scholarly table.

That, and also the name “Thot Catalogue” would have probably got us into legal trouble.

BECAUSE WHY NOT?

Joseph Osmundson is a scientist and writer from Washington State. He spends his days
working in a lab, and his nights frequenting underwear parties. His writing, mostly
nonfiction, is about class, race, sex, and duh, science.

 Dennis Norris II is an ex-figure skater, lapsed violist, educator, and writer exploring daddy
issues through the lens of queer black boyhood. He is a Kimbilio Fiction Fellow, a Tin House
Scholar, and a MacDowell Colony Fellow. He lives in Harlem, along with his expansive
poncho collection.

 Tommy Pico is a poet from the Viejas Indian reservation of the Kumeyaay nation. He
authored the books IRL (Birds LLC, 2016), Nature Poem (Tin House Books, 2017), and
myriad prize-winning tweets, including “Sittin’ on the cock of the gay.” His Myers-Briggs is
IDGAF.
