1. PREAMBLE
In addition to the Scope of WORK as specified by the RAPID-P0014-OUI-CON-SOW-0001-8001
Scope of Work document for General Activities.
The purpose of the present document is to specify, in chapters 3 to 7, the limits of Scope of WORK
between PACKAGE CONTRACTOR and OWNER relevant to the painting work.
The scope of the OWNER is strictly limited to that defined herein; on the other hand, the scope of
the PACKAGE CONTRACTOR shall be construed as being inclusive of all that is not included in
OWNER’s scope.
All activities / duties not included in the OWNER’s scope of WORK, as herein defined, are
deemed to be included in PACKAGE CONTRACTOR’s scope of WORK and paid by the
CONTRACT PRICE.
All activities /duties listed in the following paragraphs are additional to the ones specified by the
correspondent paragraph of the RAPID-P0014-OUI-CON-SOW-0001-8001 Scope of Work
document for General Activities.
The WORKS shall be performed in conformity with the CONTRACT and, in particular, with the
Specification, the suppliers’ recommendations, good practice and in conformity with the Project
Documentation.
2. INTRODUCTION
2.1 Project general description

Refer to the EXHIBIT A RAPID-P0014-OUI-CON-SOW-0001-8001
2.2 Description of the WORKS

The Scope of WORK of the PACKAGE CONTRACTOR consists in the execution of painting and
touch up painting works such as:
Painting works
1. Surface Preparation
Supply of material and product for surface preparation (such as degreasing, brushing,
sandblasting, grit-blasting, etc.), and surface preparation before painting.
2. Painting
Supply of paints and painting activities.
Note: PACKAGE CONTRACTOR is advised to pre-paint the straight pipes prior to pre-
fabrication and transportation to installation site. Especially for the interconnecting pipes.
3. Galvanizing
Pre-fabricated carbon steel spool pieces for Galvanizing shall be coated with zinc from inside
and outside by hot dip galvanizing process. The galvanizing shall be as per ASTM A53.

Flange face shall be protected by suitable means prior to the hot dip process. Inspection and
quality control of the flange surface finish shall take place prior storage and installation.
Touch Up Painting Works

1. Surface Preparation
Supply of material and product for surface preparation (such as degreasing, brushing,
sandblasting, grit-blasting, etc.), and surface preparation before touch up painting.
2. Touch-up Painting
Touch up painting the damaged area. In particular, the Painting works and supply shall apply as
follows:
♦ Painting of piping and auxiliary supports: in principle, surface preparation and primer
application will be performed by PACKAGE CONTRACTOR before erection,
intermediate and finish coats will be applied after erection.
♦ Painting of Steel Structures: PACKAGE CONTRACTOR will apply intermediate and/or
finish coat on already erected structures.
♦ Painting of fireproofed materials
♦ Painting of non-ferrous materials (nickel, aluminium, etc,) is not included.
♦ Painting of non-Metallic piping ( HDPE, GRVE etc)
♦ Painting for insulated and non insulated piping and equipment
♦ Touch Up painting on the damaged area shall be performed conforming to the existing
applied painting system.
NOTES:
♦ In chapters 3 to 7 the OWN column corresponds to OWNER and the PC column to
PACKAGE CONTRACTOR.
♦ In chapter 3 the DOC column indicates the number of copies and the updating frequency of
the document to be transmitted. The figure indicated is the number of copies to be handed
over to the other party (from OWNER to the PACKAGE CONTRACTOR or from the
PACKAGE CONTRACTOR to OWNER). The code following this number is:
 N if the document does not have to be re-issued periodically
 M if the document has to be issued on a Monthly basis
 W if the document has to be issued on a Weekly basis
 D if the document has to be issued on a Daily basis for every working day
 * in accordance with Exhibit J.

5. SUPPLIES
It is expressly understood that OWNER's SUPPLY are strictly limited to those
described in Exhibit F.
(All supplies by OWNER shall be specified in Exhibit F)
The PACKAGE CONTRACTOR shall provide all SUPPLY such as
MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT, consumables, tools, facilities, items, necessary
for the execution of the WORKS with the exception of the SUPPLY provided
by OWNER as stipulated in Exhibit F.
PACKAGE CONTRACTOR's scope of SUPPLY is not limited. All
PACKAGE CONTRACTOR SUPPLY include transportation to WORKSITE
including customs clearance if necessary, storage and handling on
WORKSITE.
The hereafter split of SUPPLY and battery limits between OWNER and
PACKAGE CONTRACTOR is only given as an assistance to the PACKAGE
CONTRACTOR to identify their scope of SUPPLY but does not define the
scope of SUPPLY of either the OWNER or the PACKAGE CONTRACTOR
♦ MATERIAL and EQUIPMENT to be free issued to PACKAGE X
CONTRACTOR according to EXHIBIT F
♦ All MATERIAL and EQUIPMENT including consumables necessary

requirements of the above listed documents (such as equipment list,
lines list) and including :
 The intermediate storage if necessary of painted elements not
immediately useable or erectable on WORKSITE (in an area
defined by OWNER).
 The management and co-ordination of movements between areas,
workshops, warehouses... of all elements being painted or already
painted.
 Before application starting of any cycle, PACKAGE
CONTRACTOR will execute an application sample to verify the
painting system and materials performances (adherence, product
compatibility, thickness, actual coverage (sqm per kg of paint),
etc.).
 Checking the pot lifetime of the material used, before application in
order to use the proper material (not expired).
 Guarantee that the paint product are compatible with the primers
used for shop primed surfaces (by Vendors)
 Execution of the surface preparation and priming of all welds
performed on equipment/piping already installed and primed,
before the finish coat/insulation application
 Consider the higher incidence of materials and work inside basins,
drums, containers, etc.
 Execution of any touch-up, where necessary, due to transportation,
cleaning operations, damages, etc.
 Painting over the surface, until the required thickness is reached
 Execute and provide suitable protection for nameplates, shafts, and
finished surfaces, flange gasket area, gauge and similar areas, to
ensure that they will not be damaged or painted.
 Use and provision of tarpaulin or similar materials to protect and
keep clean and free of sand and paint the areas surrounding the
surfaces under work (mainly surface preparation activities)
 Re-marking of spools, bars and / or any other elements after
cleaning, surface preparation and primer application.
 The protection of surfaces that must not be painted, such as:
flanges faces, identification plates, valves extensions, spring
supports indexes, threaded rods.
 The execution of painting phases in strict compliance with the
provisions of the specifications, the paint supplier's
recommendations, the rules of the art and naturally in compliance

with the codes of the above documents such as: equipment lists,
lines lists, etc... PACKAGE CONTRACTOR must check before
CONTRACT award the types of surface protections that will have
to be removed at the time of surface preparation.
 In the case of insulated equipment and lines, the non-insulated parts
such as: sliding support, supports, flanges, valves, nozzles,
equipment cradles, equipment flanges, must receive a complete
paint system.
 The paint coat completion and Site touch-ups will be executed with
care, reconstructing the systems previously applied and
deteriorated and following strictly the drying times.
 Silicon paints must be applied as late as possible.
 For insulated equipment and piping, the painting system shall be
applied prior to insulation installation.
 Cleaning (from all traces of greasing, dirties, machining residues,
paintings touch-up, etc.) of surfaces to be covered by insulation.
 Supply and erection/dismantling of any scaffolding necessary for
the execution of the work
 All precautions and measures required to maintain work areas clean
and tidy and the necessary measures to ensure the protection of all
personnel, machinery and materials, during the execution of the
work.
 The execution of sample plates for the different paint systems, in
accordance with the rules of the art.
 The identification (paints and plates) of equipment, piping,
according to the technical specifications.
 Protection of neighbouring equipment and materials.
 Respecting WORKSITE constraints (safety, units in operation, site
layout, location and set-up of temporary site facilities, etc.).
NOTE: Application of a coat of painting requires the prior inspection or
agreement by OWNER of the previous coat or of the surface
preparation.
