6 CONFIGURATION

This section explains the various configuration options provided by the Web Configuration
pages

Web Configuration pages

To access the Web Configuration pages, enter the IP address of your device into a web
browser. The Information menu is displayed.

IndigoVision devices support Microsoft ® Internet Explorer (version 10 or higher

recommended).

To access any of the other configuration pages, click the required option in the menu on the
left of each page.

System information
This menu is read-only and provides a basic configuration overview of the device.

Image parameters
These menus provide control of the image settings.

Codec
The 3MP In-ceiling Microdome Camera supports two codec types.
• H.264 - Selecting this option lets you select sub menus for Frame rate, GOP length,
QoS (DSCP) Codepoint, and Rate control with corresponding range settings.
• MJPEG - Selecting this option lets you select sub menus which include Frame rate
and Quality.
Each Codec can be configured using a profile. There are 6 profiles available with each profile
containing 3 streams.
• Current profile - Select which profile you want to implement. Select Save profile to
apply the settings.
• Edit profile - Select which profile you wish to edit.
• Resolution - Set the resolution to be used by the camera
• Codec - Select which codec is to be used.
• Frame rate - Set the maximum frame rate.

User Guide - v5 21
6 Configuration 3MP In-ceiling Microdome Camera - BX Range

• GOP Length - A smaller number means the distance between two I-frames is smaller,
which needs more network bandwidth for better image quality. Larger numbers
consume less bandwidth but the image is difficult to recover. The available length
number options of GOP will vary based on frame rate settings.
• Quality - Select the quality of the codec to use.
• QoS - Select the Quality of service to be used. To classify and manage network traffic
and provide quality of service (QoS) on modern IP networks, Differentiated Services
Code Point (DSCP) is a computer networking architecture that specifies a resource
allocation to each device on a priority-based pattern for ideal bandwidth management.
The bigger value, the higher priority it will be.
• Rate control - Choose from VBR (Variable Bit Rate) and CBR (Capped Bit Rate).
CBR attempts to cap the bit rate to the target bit rate, regardless of activity.
• CBR/VBR bitrate maximum or minimum - Choose the bit rate control selection
based on user requirements. Higher bit rate values will result in better quality with
bigger file size and thus consume more network bandwidth. CBR stands for constant
mode with certain fixed rate by user definition, while VBR means variable mode in
which users can set a range of upper and lower limits respectively for bit rate control.

Exposure
Use this web page to set the exposure and light intensity of the image.
• Auto exposure - Select this option to automatically adjust the shutter speed and gain.
• Manual exposure - Select this option and manually adjust the exposure options.
• Advanced exposure - These options let you fine tune the exposure options.
• EV Compensation - Set the exposure compensation for the camera.
• Day & Night - Sets the day/night setting. Select automatic to enable the camera to
switch from day mode to night mode automatically.
• Switching Sensitivity - Select the sensitivity for the Day & Night switching from
day to night mode.
• Delay time - Enter the time to delay before switching from one mode to another.
• Noise reduction - Reduces signal noise from the sensor at the expense of
reduced sharpness.
• BLC - Filters intense back light surrounding a subject to enhance the features and
shapes of the subject. This feature is not available if Wide Dynamic Range is
enabled.
• WDR - Filters intense back light surrounding a subject to enhance the shadows and
highlights of the subject.

White balance
Specifies the method by which the camera determines color levels. IndigoVision
recommends this should be left at automatic unless one of the fixed values provides a more
accurate representation of the hues within a particular scene.

Basic color
Use this web page to configure the color and hues of the image. These are standard color-
space controls. Adjust as required for your video.
Contrast - Allows you to increase the contrast of edges in the image making edges more
distinct. Increasing the sharpness may increase bandwidth requirements and noise.
Hue - Set picture hue from level -15 to 15. Selecting 15 provides the deepest hue.

22 User Guide - v5
3MP In-ceiling Microdome Camera - BX Range 6 Configuration

Saturation - This describes the difference of a color from the gray of the same lightness.
Increasing saturation deepens the colors of your images, making reds redder and blues bluer.
You can adjust picture saturation level from 0 to 255. Decreasing saturation brings the image
closer to a grayscale (that is, monochrome or black-and-white) image. Selecting 255 provides
the highest image saturation.
Sharpness - Increasing the sharpness value sharpens the edges and small features of an
image. If the edges appear too smooth or blurred, increase the sharpness; otherwise,
decrease the sharpness. Sharpness value can be set from 0 to 15.
Gamma Correction - Allows you to set the gamma correction to 1 or 0.45.
Video orientation - Flips the image horizontally and vertically to change the orientation of the
image.

Privacy zones
Use this web page to define a zone that will be obscured when viewed by the camera.
Privacy zones appear as a colored shape when viewed by the camera.
You can configure up to 8 privacy zones.
To define a Privacy zone:
1. Define the zone Color of the zone.
2. Select a zone number.
3. Draw the desired zone on the embedded camera view.
4. Click Save Mask zone.
The display refreshes and the zone is created.
Clean Mask zone - Delete the selected zone

Network settings
Use this menu to configure the network connections and settings.

Network
• View - Click to open a dialog that displays the current configured network settings.
• Camera name - The name of the camera as it appears to the network.
• Location - The name of the network location.

application layer that restructures the exchange of management information among network-
attached nodes. This help administrators to remotely manage network devices.
Enable or disable each version of SNMP. For SNMP v3, enter your username, and
authentication and privacy keys.
