CUNY –Borough of Manhattan Community College 3/2012 – Present
 Service 10,000 students annually, provide oversight, research, forecast analysis, strategic planning,
program development , operational management, grant management and fiscal management of allied
health training, information technology courses and professional development grant funded initiatives
including capacity and revenue building of tuition based programs through Office of Adult & Continuing
Education and Workforce Development. Also responsible for program evaluation, curriculum
development, contextualize learning, experiential learning and project scaling. Work with Dean of
Academic Affairs and Department Chairs to create articulation agreements and pipelines for non credit
training to credit bearing programs. Building relationships with partnering stakeholders to help provide
students with academic literacy, relevant and supportive learning experiences upskilling and employment
opportunities. Involved in institutional effective assessment projects for middle state accreditation.
 Reports directly to the Dean of Continuing Education with responsibility to oversee labor market driven
program development,course scheduling, enrollment, operation and fiscal management of 10 grant
funded ($2.million) and fee based allied health & I.T. programs ie. Hemodialysis, EMT, Medical Assistant
Specialist, Medical Billing & Coding, IV therapy, Spanish for Healthcare, A+, CCNA and other courses in
the office of adult continuing education and workforce development at CUNY Borough of Manhattan
Community College.
 Curriculum development and evaluation to ensure industry competencies are taught and measured
through appropriate pedagogy (student centered learning) and experiential learning experiences.
 Over sight of AARP-Foundation BACK to WORK 50+ initiative to provide career readiness skills, wrap
around services and healthcare training opportunities for the older mature adult looking to re enter into

CONSULTANT –CUNY LaGuardia Community College (2009)


 Worked for the Dean of Adult and Continuing Education at CUNY LaGuardia Community College on
establishing the Mayoral’s NYC Workforce1 Healthcare Career Sector Center on location. Hired to help
with the start up operations of the sector center providing my expertise in program management and
development of Allied Health Training Programs. Member of Strategic planning and Education
Committee for Adult & Continuing Education where I offered insight and recommendations on program
development and enhancement of existing programs, development of operation guidelines and data
tracking tools for the allied health programs administered through the sector center model.

Program Development Specialist, Nursing Career Ladder Program – Office of Workforce Development
 Managed NYS Health, Workforce, and Retraining grant to provide funding sponsorship for higher
education and nursing career ladder training opportunities to employers.
 Selected by the largest municipal hospital and health care system in the country servicing 1.3 million New
Yorkers with 11 acute care hospitals, four skilled nursing facilities, six large diagnostic and treatment
centers, and 90 community based clinics to manage and oversee the Registered and Licensed Practical
Nursing educational training programs under the Health, Workforce, and Retraining Initiative Grant.
 Key duties include overseeing project management initiatives, provide strategic planning for prep and
nursing bridge programs and cohort nursing programs, facilitate new vendor contracts, handle
recruitment and orientation and track and manage program data. Placement of over 500 union employees
into upgraded nursing positions ranging from LPN, AAS/BSN RN and Specialized Nurse Practitioners.
 Establish forgivable loan agreements with employee and HHC for work commitment.
 Administer and track annual grant expenses that total more than $3 million, forecast budgets and handle
reporting duties.
 Apply effective communication skills to liaison between higher education institutions and hospitals in the
HHC network.

1199 SEIU EDUCATION, TRAINING AND UPGRADING FUND 2004 – 2006


Program Manager – Nursing and Allied Health Programs
 Managed the Registered and Licensed Practical Nursing and Allied Health Professional educational
training programs under the Health, Workforce, and Retraining Initiative grant for 1199 SEIU and HHC’s
Nursing Career Ladder Program for this major healthcare worker’s union with membership of 30,000.
 Managed and tracked annual grant expenses of more than $2 million and provided liaison between higher
education institutions and 1199 Training & Upgrading Fund.
 Position entailed making funding available to qualified union members to obtain degrees in Nursing and
other Allied Health professions. Contracting with vendors to establish special cohort trainings.
Responsibilities include preparing ongoing status reports, meeting with staff regarding weekly projects,
and managing the following functional areas: project management initiatives, strategic planning, new
vendor contracts, recruitment, orientation, case management, data tracking / management, workshop
coordination, site visits, program evaluation, budget forecasting, and grant reporting.
 Managed LPN cohorts at sponsored training programs/schools providing additional counseling,
academic advisement and implementing recitation sessions resulting in 90% passing the NCLEX PN exam
and gaining employment at an 1199 facility in an LPN position.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS – New York, NY 2002 –


2004
Program Administrator – Enrichment Programs, Office of Diversity Affairs
 Challenged to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine, research, and health
professions by managing students in pre-college and undergraduate enrichment programs designed to
increase the awareness of healthcare professionals and educational opportunities for high school and
undergraduate minority students.
 Completed grant writing for higher education initiatives, prepared program and budget proposals,
managed budgets, prepared progress and annual reports, developed curriculum and program
evaluations, facilitated program orientations, coordinated workshops, assisted recruitment efforts,
coordinated and hosted annual medical school symposiums, provided administrative support and
referrals for student support services to the Minority Medical Student Organization (BALSO).
 Coordinated workshops instructing students on college application and financial aid process, and
established college fairs for academically inclined students, 75% of which went on to top tier colleges
majoring in science or math. Reported directly to Dean of Diversity & Minority Affairs.

ARTHUR ASHE INSTITUTE FOR URBAN HEALTH – Brooklyn, NY 2001 – 2002

 Research and collected data for Detroit and Chicago health awareness program expansion project to
training hair stylists and barbers to promote breast, prostate, and cardio vascular health to their client
base. Participated in marketing grass roots project to teaching hospitals to help increase health awareness
to culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged community residents in non-traditional settings.
Project helped health facilities develop culturally relevant services addressing racial, ethnic, and gender
based health disparities.

House Staff Coordinator – Graduate Medical Education
 Challenged to coordinate the day to day operations of GME office responsible for the credentialing of 400
foreign and American trained House staff within 18 residency and fellowship training programs at this
1076 bed community and tertiary care hospital.
 Maintained database system, used the ERAS system, coordinated orientations, processed diplomas and
certificates of completion, processed payroll and human resources requisitions including visa and
licensure applications, handled appointment and reappointment credentialing, renewal of contracts,
prepared AMA and NMRP surveys and questionnaires, scheduled monthly committee meetings, and
submitted weekly status reports to senior management.

WYCKOFF HEIGHTS MEDICAL CENTER – Brooklyn, NY 1997 – 2000


Medical Education Coordinator – Graduate Medical Education
 Chosen by this 350 bed teaching hospital to assist the Administrative Director and Vice President of
Medical Education with overseeing 12 Residency Programs and ensuring compliance with accreditation
regulations, policy, and procedures.
 Managed the GME office, which included monitoring the external and operational budgets, coordinated
all house staff activities in accordance with the ACGME & AOA guidelines, offered administrative
support to medical and internship training programs, assisted with recruitment efforts, matching process
through ERAS and credentialing of international and American trained residents, and coordinated annual
orientations and graduations.
 Fostered professional development by coordinating workshops such as Infectious Control, BCLS & ACLS,
and Child Abuse Courses for Attendings and Healthcare Professionals. Completed diverse administrative
tasks such as payroll, human resources, preparation of committee minutes, grant proposal applications,
surveys, evaluations, and program reviews.
 Coordinated preparation of hospital mock site visit meetings and prepared summary reports for (JCAHO)
Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Manager of Student Services 1997 – 2000
 Liaised between GME and Overseas and North American Medical Schools, managing more than 100
medical students’ and physician assistants’ activities.
 Range of responsibility involved scheduling clerkships, providing academic advising, conducting
orientations, proctoring exams, analyzing and tracking evaluations, billing contractual medical schools for
student clerkships, updating training program publications, and maintaining records in accordance with
NYS Department of Education guidelines.
 Established a tracking clerkship system for students assigned to different rotations, ensuring the Chief Resident was responsible for
students on the floors.
