Aircraft Structure : Tail

Morning everyone. My name is Muhammad Akbar Hidayat, you can call me

akbar. In this opportunity, I’m gonna present you the things about the structure of
aircraft especially about the tail.
Ladies and Gentleman, Do you know what is tail ? The tail of aircraft structure
or what we call as empennage is a part of aircraft that located in backside and it’s
usually used as the control sector of aircraft such as aileron and rudder included
horizontal and vertical stabilizer. Empennage is very important to the structure of
conventional aircraft and common aircraft, but time by time some aircraft design
already don’t need an empennage.

Firstly i’ll start from elevator. Elevator is one of the aircraft parts that are usually
found in the tail of the plane. Elevators are usually horizontal-shaped fins that have a
control function that directs the fuselage up or down and further lifts or lowers the
plane's altitude by changing the angle of the airplane's wing contact. The elevator
movement is usually up and down. When the elevator moves up, the elevator contact
with air will push down the tail section of the plane, automatically, the nose of the
aircraft will point upwards. This will cause the wing of the aircraft to lift the height of the
fuselage as the angle of the aircraft wing contact with the air increases.
Second is about the trim. Trim tabs are small and movable parts of the trailing
edge of the steering wheel. Trim tabs that can be driven from the cockpit reduce
pressure on the steering wheel. Trim tabs can be mounted on ailerons, rudders and / or
elevators.
Next, rudder is connected at the rear of the vertical stabilizer. During flight, the
rudder is used to move the nose of the plane to the right and to the left. Rudder is used
in conjunction with the aileron for turns during flight. While the elevator mounted on the
back of the horizontal stabilizer is used to move the aircraft's nose up and down during
the flight.
And then about stabilizer, the main function of the stabilizer field is to keep the
aircraft always in a straight and level flight condition (straight and level flight). Vertical
stabilizer maintains aircraft stability with vertical axis, which is to maintain directional
stability. Vertical stabilizer as the rudder mounting area. Horizontal stabilizer maintains
aircraft stability with lateral axis (lateral axis) that is to maintain longitudinal stability.
Horizontal stabilizer as elevator mounting area.
Last but not least, we have known about the tail, eventhough it is not a big part
enough but it is very useful especially for the aircraft performance. I think that’s all from
me. Sorry if i have mistaken. Thanks for great attention. Morning 
