In Greek mythology, Medea was the daughter of the King of Colchis and Idia nymph.

Medea was a
famous priestess of the goddess Hecate, goddess of ancient origins, whose Medea learned the art of
sorcery, as a relative of hers, the famous witch Circe. It is also said that Medea was the
granddaughter of the Titan Helios.

In the legend of the Golden Fleece, Medea is captivated by the arts of Eros to help the Argonaut
Jason in his quest for the Golden Fleece, providing all sorts of potions and precise instructions to
achieve his mission and thus circumvent the harsh conditions imposed by King Colchis.

The magic through which Jason had to go through to find the Golden Fleece, reveals the path of
shamanic for initiates in ancient sorcery epic process.

The story goes that even though Jason made it out unscathed from all tests the king of Colchis would
not fulfill his promise to give the Fleece and Medea had to help again Jason, through her arts as
sorceress, to obtain the presea and longed to escape the island.
