CommStar keypads connect to the CommStar Network Control Units to provide versatile user interfaces. These
programmable keypads work to directly control devices on the CommStar network, such as lights, thermostats and
security systems. Each key can also trigger a Macro command to perform multiple functions, such as group
lighting, all on or all off lights, or set all thermostats back. They can even trigger complex commands across
several network devices such as setting lighting, security and thermostat with one button push.

Easy to use setup and programming tools are provided with the Windows based WinEVM software included with
the CommStar Network Control Units.

CommStar Network Control Units (NCU’s) are programmable automation controllers for residential or
commercial buildings that make it easy to create an integrated and interoperable network of a variety of devices,
such as keypads, thermostats, security systems, lighting controls and relay controls. The WinEVM programming
tool makes it easy to build a complex schedule of timed events, real time if/then/else macro interactions or keypad
control of remote devices. They support RS232, RS485, and X10 powerline communications for a robust set of
connections to third party subsystems and network devices.

All CommStar NCU’s will control up to 16 Graphical Keypads, 16 LED keypads, 32 thermostats and sensors and
either onboard, Auxiliary bus or RS485 network relays controls, digital inputs and analog inputs.
