Proper Nouns
Proper nouns are special names for people, places, animals, and
things. They begin with capital letters. Days of the week, months of
the year, and holidays also begin with capital letters. Titles and initials
for people begin with capital letters. Many titles end with a period (.).
Noah and Maya learned about Abraham Lincoln. Ms. Grant told
the children the story of Mr. Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was born
on February 12, 1809, in Kentucky.
