Quite a hard question, given the vast number of definitions floating around at the
moment. To use the loosest definition, a vampire is any creature that must regularly feed
upon blood or life energy. Seems simple enough, until you start falling over any god's
quantity of variations, subspecies, and arguments about the deeper meaning of spelling.
Oh, on the subject of spelling, before I go any further... I spell vampire with an 'i'. I spell
it like this whether I'm talking about mortal vampires, immortal vampires, vampires in
folklore, vampires in fiction, or in any other context. I'm aware that some people claim
that "vampyre" is the correct term for a mortal vampire, and I've also heard claims that
"vampyre" should only be used to refer to fictional or folkloric vamps. So, I don't use the
word at all.
Now that little digression's over, let's return to the point in question. I am here going to
attempt to list as many permutations of what a vampire is currently believed to be and do
as I can find, starting with the terms I use myself.
Vampire
See above. Someone or something that needs to feed on blood or life energy, generally in
order to survive (or at least, in order to maintain any decent standard of health). The term
can also be used for someone who takes life energy to strengthen themselves, but who
does not necessarily need it.
And yes, I've heard the argument that every living creature is vampire because everything
has to take in nutrients which is really the same as taking in life energy. My response to
that is: stuff it. I'm discussing this in the context of metaphysics and general paranormal
ooga-booga shite. I refuse to define your average cow as a vampire. Although if anyone
can offer me proof of a vampire cow, I'd just love to see it.

plane, or by direct energy draining, often from the victim's aura. Conscious psi-vamps
may or may not also drink or crave blood. Psi-vamps of this sort tend to be empathic to a
certain extent, and some draw upon or favour emotional energy of various sorts. There
are psi-vamps who like to incite rage or fear in their victims prior to feeding, and others
who have a preference for sexual energy.
Another entity occasionally termed a psychic vampire is an incorporeal being which,
while distinct from related entities such as succubi, draws energy in a similar way to their
human counterparts. These frequently seem to be rogue thought-forms created from the
subconscious of a disturbed individual (who may be able to communicate with them).
Sanguinarian Vampires
A word meaning "bloodthirsty", derived from the Latin sanguineus.
Blood-drinking vampires, generally mortal, who need to consume blood in order to stave
off a number of unpleasant side-effects. Such vampires may or may not also be psi-
vamps.
Different vampires claim to require different quantities of blood with varying regularity.
Some can't go a day without feeding, others can go months. There is some evidence that
the cravings of mortal vampires, including sanguinarians, can be quelled if they regularly
have energy fed into them by a psi-vamp or a magician who works with such energies.
Mortal Vampires
I use this term to define all more-or-less human vampires who don't gain any huge
extensions in life span (although their appearence can remain the same for a lot longer
than normal) as a result of their practices and cravings. That said, the life span thing is
largely untested. I don't personally know any mortal vampires who've died of old age yet,
but that's probably got a lot to do with the fact that the oldest mortal vampire I know of is
in his early sixtys.
Some mortal vampires believe themselves to actually be immortal beings, who's spirit or
soul goes from body to body through the ages, as its vessels die. One theory that appears
in relation to this is that while the human soul has to wait a long time after death to
transfer to a new body, a vampire soul can do so immediately.
Some mortal vampires also claim that they are in fact incorporeal vampiric entites,
temporarily inhabiting a corporeal vessel of flesh.
I use the terms "human vampire" and "mortal vampire" pretty much interchangably.
Donor
No, not a type of kebab. Well, not unless you do the impalement thing. Someone who
voluntarily gives blood or energy to a vampire. Some mortal sanguinarian (blood-
drinking) vampires have rather elaborate donor networks. The main advantage to a
vampire of using donors is that they can thus avoid diseased blood.
Very few concious psychic vampires use donors, most preferring to victimise people
either at random, or who they actively dislike. This said, most psi-vamps will ask
2
permission before feeding on someone close to them
Blood donors in particular tend with some frequency to have certain masochistic
tendancies, and often a blood fetish.
Some vampires form intimate friendships and sexual relationships with their donors.
Others regard it to be in bad taste to socialise with, or fuck, one's food.
Victim
Usually, an unwilling donor, although some people find it very hard to turn down an
attractive vampire asking them them to "be my victim". Let's face it, it's a GOOD chat-up
line.
Incorporeal Vampire
A vampiric being with no physical substance. This includes astral vampires, succubi,
some thought-forms, and some vampiric entities. These seem to mostly be energy beings
of some sort, and can on occasion be given a more physical (although typically hardly
solid) form by means of evocation.
Vampiric Entities
In actual fact, any sort of vampire. However, I will generally be using the term to
describe beings such as demons and gods, which have vampiric tendancies. Examples of
such beings are Lhiannon Shee, Lilith, Kali, and Lamia.
Sexual Vampires
People or beings that feed upon sexual energy. They will generally make themselves
appear in a form pleasing to their victim.
In terms of mortal vampires, this is basically a specialised form of psychic vampirism.
Elsewhere on this site is a document on human succubi, and another on the practice of
submissive sexual vampirism. It seems that it can be possible for a sexual vampire to
create an almost addictive need in their victims to be fed upon further.
Some sexual vampires crave sexual fluids in a way similar to how a sanguinarian vampire
craves blood.
In terms of incorporeal vampires, the incubus/succubus is the archetypal sexual vampire,
a large number of vampiric entities seem to have tendencies in this direction.
While being fed upon by a sexual vampire is more often than not a pleasurable
experience, this is not invariably the case.
Feeding
In a vampiric context, the act of consuming whatever the vampire feeds on, e.g. blood or
energy
"Real Vampire"
A phrase I don't use to describe anything if I can at all avoid it.
A large number of mortal vampires use it to describe themselves. A problem arises
because, by most people's standards, they are not real vampires. The majority of people
regard real vampires to be undead/immortal beings of great power, as seen in the movies,
3
and in a couple of thousand years worth of folklore.
Quite reasonably, most mortal vampires take offense at being accused of having the
delusional belief that they are immortal beings, possessed of a vast array of superpowers.
I can only assume that arguments about this have lead some people who have very little
belief in the supernatural, but who regard themselves to be vampires, to take offence at
the use of the word to refer to anything other than what they are, especially undead
immortal beings.
Vampyre
A somewhat archaic spelling of the word vampire. However, usage of the word
"vampyre" in relevant subcultures varies widely. I include below the definitions I've run
into thus far.
1. A human, mortal, or "real" vampire, used to differentiate them from the folkloric
or fictional "vampire".
2. A fictional or mythological vampire, used to differentiate them from the mortal,
"real" or human "vampire".
3. A vampire lifestyler; i.e. someone who does not believe themself to be a vampire,
but acts the part.
4. A female vampire.
5. Someone with one vampire parent and one normal human parent (in other words,
a dhampir).
Confusing, isn't it? This is the sort of thing flame wars get started over.
[deep breath] Role-players; most goths (black lipstick and eyeliner do not a vampire
make, whatever some of the more hysterical anti-vampire culture movements may have
to say about it); the majority of witches, satanists, and magicians; people who go about
calling themselves Lestat and claim that Anne Rice wrote their biography; blood fetishists
who do not obtain energy from their activities; people who are under the impression that
a combination of orange and tomato juice is a blood substitute; people who go about
calling themselves Spike or Drusilla and talk about their run-ins with nubile blonde girlie
vampire slayers (why is it that most of the vampire slayers I meet are neither nubile nor
girlie?); people who say they're part of the Tremere clan and that White Wolf ripped them
off...
Human Sexual Vampirism
Xaronzon
Although the pronoun 'she', and the female perspective are used, members of either sex
can use these techniques, to attract a member of their preferred sex and sexuality.
Succubi (Incubi in their male form), said to be the demonic children of Lilith, feed upon
sexual energy. Coming in dreams, they feed by night upon the sexually frustrated and the
sexually overactive. With regards to a human magickally reproducing these succubitic
4
abilities, they can be split into 2 categories: glamour and the absorption of energy.
Succubitic Temptation
When a succubus goes on the hunt she projects an aura of pure sex. Her smile offers
within it all the lust in the world, and her eyes show her wisdom in the ways of
temptation. I'm not going to go into detail on how to seduce a victim, as each individual
has her own style, and her own preferred targets. As I generally hunt at gigs and clubs of
various descriptions, the method of temptation is oriented towards that. This is not to say
that a cocktail bar is not an equally suitablle, if not better, hunting ground.
When you find a suitable target you should try to catch their eye. If you're at a gig with a
decent mosh pit, you can probably get them to dance with you (more tempting than it
sounds.. it involves close body contact, and intimates a certain degree of trust).
Initiate conversation. Asking for a light tends to be a good start. It is actually easier to
seduce someone in a noisy club or gig environment for two reasons. To start with you
already have something to talk about: the club, or the band playing. And secondly, you
won't be able to talk that much due to high noise levels, allowing your glamour to take
effect with minimal effort on your part.
Assuming the individual is of a suitable sexual persuasion and does not have a partner
guarding them one thing should lead to another.
To be continued...
The Practice of Psychic/Magickal Vampirism
Xaronzon
Conscious psychic vampires are those who deliberate take energy from others,
either by magickal means (for example, servitors), or by some instinctive ability,
via the astral plane, or by direct energy draining, often from the victim's aura. This
energy draining is the area I will cover in greatest detail in this essay.
Another entity occasionally termed a psychic vampire is an incorporeal being
which, while distinct from related entities such as succubi, draws energy in a
similar way to their human counterparts. These frequently seem to be rogue
thought-forms created from the subconscious of a disturbed individual (who may
be able to communicate with them).
Potential difficulties
It's worth noting that you have to be careful not to absorb all the negative psychic
crap people tend to give off. I've made the mistake a couple of times of just
opening myself to all the energy in an area crowded with people who are likely as
not under stress, and have suffered results from nausea, headaches and
disorientation, to extreme emotional states such as panic or lonelyness.
Some people get round this by only feeding when the victim is in a suitable
emotional state, only feeding from specific types of people, only feeding from one
person at a time in a secluded place, by setting up servitors or shields to filter out
undesirable energy, or by doing this manually.
I've found that extreme negative reactions only become uncontrollable if the
vampire is exhausted, emotionally or physically.

Vampirism FAQ
Needless to say, this FAQ only represents the author's personal opinions. Others will hold
different opinions, many of which you will find to be at least as likely, and some of which
may be more accurate. We aren't addressing some of the very common questions (which
probably makes this more of an Infrequently Asked Questions page), as in some cases we
deal with them elsewhere, and in others, they are already covered in a number of
excellent FAQs already on the web. For some views on what a vampire is, see

I've heard that human blood is unsafe. Should I drink animal blood instead?
No. It really is quite a bad idea. Animals can carry a large number of communicable
diseases. Not to mention the fact that, as it's illegal to take blood from animals without
due cause and training, you'll have to rely on blood from a butcher. This blood will
almost certainly have been dead for rather a long time, and will probably be contaminated
with dye that many meat sellers use to make their wares look as their customers expect.
Neither of these factors necessarily make the blood particularly dangerous, but they aren't
exactly likely to do a lot for its worth as a source of energy.
Rare or raw beef tastes nice, can go some way to quelling blood cravings, and tends to be
relatively safe, compared to many other meats (steak tartare anyone?), but it's not really
much of a substitute for the real thing.
Sources
A donor network such as those used by some energy vampires is one possibility, and
allows for a greater sense of security than some other approaches. However, most people
who are interested in being voluntary donors for a vampire of any sort tend to be
submissives themselves, which, for obvious reasons, is inappropriate to this approach to
energy vampirism. One alternative is to have a number of regular "clients" who are not
informed about the vampiric element of the relationship. A professional relationship is
one option, although this can bring legal and other inconveniences, particularly if you
wish to involve sex in the equation. That said, subbing professionally can be lucrative.
However, a more social exchange, for example with people you already know, have met
in clubs, or contacted through personals adverts, is probably more convenient for most
people. Larger numbers of people, as in non-sexual vampirism, means there's more
available energy to absorb. Group sex is a wonderful source for feeding, as is sex with an
audience. Obviously, this also applies to non-submissive sexual vampirism, as do many
of the points made here.
10
Relinquishing Overt Power
Many people with vampiric tendencies also tend to be control freaks. Obviously, most
magicians are control freaks to the extent that they seek to manipulate the universe for
their own benefit, but vampires in particular like controlling people. This is as obvious in
an unconscious energy vamp doing an invalid routine as it is in a dominant vampire
cultist sucking energy from her followers. After all, one of the easiest ways of making
energy palatable is to influence the mood of the person being fed on. In the case of many
conscious energy vampires, this element of control is something done in a fairly overt
manner (particularly when sex comes into it), and can be a great source of personal
security. Breaking the habit of being so obviously and securely in control can be
somewhat unnerving, particularly if you are subbing with people you don't know very
well. It's essential that you feel comfortable and safe in whatever scene you're
participating in. If you have a friend or partner who you normally feel comfortable being
dominated by, it's a good idea to take them along.
by Day Walker
This is a summary of the basic stages of a "Created" type vampire; a human that has been
changed to a vampire by drinking the blood of a vampire. These are the basic symptoms
with each stage, as no two vampires experience the same exact symptoms.
*Note- These are the basic symptoms in the stage of a vampire. There are always
exceptions to this. Just like a human, a vampire can develop in a more twisted and sinister
way. This vampire is dangerous and a threat. But most aren't. Or so they say. I personally
don't know, nor is it my job to say that. I just research the basics.*

Coming to Terms
One of the first things any newly awakened psi will want to do is confirm that they are
indeed just that. This is something that one must discover on their own. It is strongly
recommended that you go out and ask around, read up on the subject, but with one thing
in mind; everything you hear and read should be taken as hearsay, and NOT fact. Only
you, the reader, can decide in the end what you are and what you aren't.
This page is to help point out what I read when it came to becoming awakened.
Remember, this is merely opinions, and never 100% fact, for proving such a thing is not
possible as of yet (as far as I know). Also, it is important to realize that just because
something happens in one way for someone, it doesn't mean that this is the pattern for
everyone. With that in mind, here is what I dug up...
These are the less-obvious symptoms that many psi-vamps experience when awakening.
If you missed what awakening itself entails, read the section about how I awakened.
More obvious symptoms include; feeling energy about you, seeing auras, and other
psychic phenomena which is out of the ordinary.
15
What to Expect
What should feel like when you awaken? Most, including myself, are tired, depressed,
and even have pains. This is due to your need to take in energy is making you drained. To
alleviate the problem, a psi will have to feed. One excellent way of determining if you're
a psi-vamp is by trying to feed. If you feel a significant difference in your attitude and
overall pep, you could indeed be a psychic vampire.
Being a psi-vamp isn't all about seduction and secrecy. It's a difficult process of learning
how to survive. You don't become immortal. You don't transform into Brad Pitt or Tom
Cruise. And no, Anne Rice to call you to congratulate you on your transformation. It's
you and you alone. There are those out there that are willing to give assistance, but in the
end, it's you who makes the decisions. I had to go through it, as did every psi out there
that now has to feed. It's not easy, but it's a process that in the end works out for the best.
What is Psychic Vampirism?
In all generality, a Psychic Vampire is someone who is incapable of producing the energy
needed to survive. This life energy, also known as pranic energy, is naturally created by
the body. Those who cannot create this energy must feed off of others who can in order to
keep their levels of pranic energy stable. Psychic vampires accomplish this through
mental abilities (empathy) which let them tap into a life source and take in their energy
for his/her own. There are blood vampires as well. They are known as sanguinarius
vampires, and also have an energy deficiency. Instead of feeding through psychic means,
though, they get their energy through blood, which is the highest physical source of
pranic energy.
The means for obtaining this energy is discussed in more detail on the section about
feeding. For a rough idea, though, just look at it like this;
All normal humans (many vampires call them "nils") have enough energy to live well. If
this energy were measured, we could say that it fills an entire glass (strictly for a visual,
not an actual measurement). Vampires, blood or psi, have glasses which are not nearly
filled enough. Imagine a vampire's glass with a small crack on it's bottom that leaks
slowly. To keep our glasses full, we take the excess in a human's glass. Those that we take
from can fill their glass back up, and our glasses are now full. We are happy and content
until our glasses leak enough to make our glass noticeably empty, and we go through the
cycle again.
Why Psi and Not Blood?
So why would one vampire with this deficiency feed psychically and not through blood
(sanguinariusly)? Basically, you could look at sanguinarius and psychic vampires as two
different races. We are born seperate, and in that respect, have individual traits, needs,
and practices. A sanguinarius vampire normaly does not have psychic abilities, and feeds
strictly through blood. In that respect, psychic vampires have empathic (psychic) abilities
naturally, and feed this way because it comes naturally. There are those who feed both
through blood and psychic means. Both practices get the job done, and are equally
rewarding.
17
Blinking
Ever watch or read Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire"? In it, Brad Pitt and other
vamps show off their speed by shooting across the screen in milliseconds. Wanna do it?
Tough, I'm afraid it's not real (at least to my knowledge). But, you can accomplish
something quite close to it. It's referred to as "blinking". I've read that at first, psi-vamps
perform this by accident, and eventually learn to do it conciously. Here's the deal;
If you find yourself doing a repetitive task, focus on only the actions involved in doing it.
If this is done correctly, you are able to do what would take minutes or hours, completed
in merely seconds or minutes. I'd provide more information on the process, but I myself
have not actually done it. There is some more information on blinking that could be very
helpful to you at Aneria Romana's Psi-Vamp Home Page
18
If we are attracted to someone we will feed with our mouths, either from their
shoulder or from their necks. We tend to be easily aroused if someone nuzzles our
necks because of this. We do not drink their blood but we do drink their energy, it
is similar to giving a hickey (could be where giving hickeys came from*winks*)
and this is the most intimate we psi-vampires get without actually having sex.
Some female psi-vampires feed from the hollow nature gave them during sex and
letting the man just assumes that they are now tired do to the exertions of having
sex (this can be addicting to the man though).
Some of us psi-vampires will feed from you by touch if you have angered us, and
only enough to tire you and get over our anger.
If you have greatly angered someone and they then walk up to you and put their
hand on your shoulder while talking to you in a quiet even voice, and you start to
feel detached and tired then you are more then likely being feed from and they are
trying to mesmerize you with their abilities so you won't notice what they are
doing. One of the ways of recognizing a psi-vampire.
We can feed on the aggressive emotions of our attacker as well as the energy they
are using to attack us with. When we drain this energy it throws the attacker off
balance and weakens them so that they tend to run away either in confusion or
because they think they bit off more than they can chew.
In martial arts you are taught to redirect the energy of your attacker but we prefer
to feed on it which makes the attacker believe that we are super strong when we
are not.
We tend to intimidate most people because of how strong and self-assured we are
perceived to be. Since we are feeding on them we suddenly appear to be stronger
than they are which frightens them and if we do not control ourselves we will
start feeding on the fear as well and this DOES draw attention to what we are.
NEVER feed on the fear for more than a minute for this can lead to death.
19
"I am a well developed psychic and empathic vampire. I have gone this path for nearly 30
years due to a lack of reliable pranic donors for blood vampirism. Psychic vampirism is a
less reliable energy source as it is less dense and more chaotic then the pranic sources of
blood and sex. It is also more difficult to develop and control. In short, one uses abilities
to recognize the mental and emotional energies of other people and to then benefit from
the "absorption" of these energies. It takes more of the psychic energies to fulfil the
energy needs as apposed to the pranic sources. Psychic energy may be picked up from the
words of another as well as the emotional energy present. Some psychic vampires can
also perceive the energy "halos" around other people and so can sense the level of energy
present.
"All people give all this energy around you, it is just most people do not "see" it enough
to be able to benefit from it for health. The psychic vampire differs from just a "psychic"
in that in psychic vampirism there is a need for this energy for health just as in any
vampirism. The empathic vampire has a natural ability. An empathic easily "absorbs" the
emotions of others and so experiences those emotions when displayed nearby. This
entails sensing both negative based emotions such as depression and forms of anger and
positive emotions such as in laughter and joy. So what effects the vampire here are both
positive and negative effecting emotions.
"With the ability of being an empath, a skilled vamp can psychically "draw" upon the
energy of the emotions thus experienced from these people. One must however learn how
to dispose of unwanted emotional energy in favour of the positive emotional energy. This
will take time in learning how to shield oneself against the negative emotions and also to
dispel that energy. As in any shielding, you know that there is methodology in this
process using focusing and imaginative skills. So what may work well for one may not
work so well for another. Once shielding skills are well developed and the ability is
acquired to separate out that emotional energy that is desired, can psychic feeding off of
emotional energy be successful. As are all souls, vamps are bombarded by emotional
energy constantly when around other people, it is the vamp who is sensitive to that
energy and so becomes it. This is what truly separates empathic vamps from ordinary
people, i.e.. the ability to readily absorb any emotional energy nearby.
"So with the positive comes the negative and the "pain". It is the well skilled vamp that
can shield the pain of negative emotions so to avoid them. This of course does not mean
some of this energy will get thru. I as a well developed empathic vamp feel the pain of
negative emotional energy every day when around other people, but it is kept at a
minimum with my shielding ability. Now getting back to feeding. Emotional energy is
perhaps one of the more intensive psychic feeding sources along with maybe elemental
sources from storms or some other earth energy. I have been quite able for many years to
feed well on both as a psychic vampire and stay my health well. There is a balance here
as in all things. I have learned over many years how to keep that balance without
extremes. That has taken many years to develop. A successful psychic feeder is rare,
simply because the energy sources are less dense than the pranic and larger amounts are
needed both in quality and quantity. Every day/night I psi feed off people and my
20
environment as one who has learned to use a developed ability to acquire this energy, and
as one who has learned what part of this energy I benefit from and how to use this energy
for that benefit. Psychic vampirism is much more difficult to develop and use for these
reasons. I had the ability as a teen and saw it, and then knew to learn to use it. Three
decades later, I feed well with it. let me know if you have any further questions.."
Tailored by Setanankhu from the similar Black Veil code, the Thirteen
Rules have been published here in the hope that you will relate to them
and use them as a guide.
1. DISCRETION
This lifestyle is private and sacred. Respect it as such. Do not make a
sideshow of yourself. We do not have to prove ourselves to anyone.
Appearing on public TV to tell the world that you drink blood is useless
attention-getting. It gets a negative reaction for the whole community. Our
place is in the shadows; our greatest protection from small-minded
humanity is the fact that they do not believe we exist. Someday they may
be ready for us to reveal ourselves to them, but that time is not now.
Do not hide from your nature, but never show it off to those who won't
understand.
2. DIVERSITY
Our paths are many, even though the journey we are on is essentially the
same. No single one of us has all the answers to who and what we are.
Respect everyone's personal views and practices. We cannot let petty
differences of ideology prevent us from maintaining a unified community;
there are enough who would attack us from the outside.
Our diversity is our strength. Let our differences in viewpoint enrich us
but never divide us amongst ourselves.
3. SAFETY
Use sense when indulging your nature. Do not flaunt what you are in
public places. Feed in private and make certain your donors will be
discrete about what happens between you. Donors who create rumours and
gossip about us are more harm than they're worth. If you engage in blood-
letting, put safety and caution above all other things. Blood-born diseases
are a very real thing, and we cannot risk endangering ourselves or others
through irresponsibility. Screen donors carefully, making certain they are
in good health both mentally and physically.
Never overindulge or get careless. The safety of the entire community
rests upon each member's caution.
4. CONTROL
We cannot and should not deny the darkness within. Yet we should not
21
allow it to control us. If our beast or shadow or dark side is given too
much sway, it clouds our judgement, making us a danger even to those we
love. Never indulge in pointless violence. Never bring wilful harm to
those who sustain you. Never feed only for the sake of feeding, and never
give over to mindless bloodlust.
We are not monsters: we are capable of rational thought and self-control.
Celebrate the darkness and let it empower you, but never let it enslave
your will.
5. LIFESTYLE
Live your life as an example to others in the community. We are privileged
to be what we are, but power should be accompanied by responsibility and
dignity. Explore and make use of your vampire nature, but keep it in
balance with material demands. Remember: we may be vampires, but we
are still a part of this world. We must live lives like everyone else here:
holding jobs, keeping homes, and getting along with our neighbours.
Being what we are is not an excuse to not participate in this reality. Rather,
it is an obligation to make it a better place for us to be.
6. FAMILY
We are, all of us, a family, and like all families, various members will not
always get along. However, respect the greater community when having
your disputes. Do not let your individual problems bring emotional strife
to the family as a whole. Settle your differences quietly among one
another, only seeking out an elder's aid in mediation when no other
solution seems possible. Never bring your private disputes into public
places and never draw other family members into the issue by forcing
them to take sides.
Like any normal family, we should always make an effort to present a
stable and unified face to the rest of the world even when things are not
perfect between us.
7. HAVENS
Our havens are safe places where everyone in the community can come to
socialize. There are also often public places where we are likely to
encounter people who don't understand our ways. We should respect the
patrons of these places as we should also respect the owners of the
establishments and always be discrete in our behaviour. We should never
bring private disputes into a haven. We should never initiate violence in a
haven. And we should never do or bring anything illegal into a haven, as
this reflects badly upon the community as a whole.
The haven is the hub of the whole community, and we should respect it as
such, supporting it without business and working to improve its name in
the community so that we can always call it home.
8. TERRITORY
The community is extensive and diverse. Every city has a different way of
doing things, and a different hierarchy of rule. When entering a new city,
22
you should familiarize yourself with the local community. Seek out the
local havens. Learn what households have sway here. Get in touch with
key members of the community, learn who is who, and show proper
respect where it is due. You should not expect to impose your old way of
doing things on this new community. Rather you should adapt to their
rules and be glad of their acceptance.
Always be on your best behaviour when coming to a new city either to
visit or to stay. We are all cautious and territorial by nature, and only by
making the most positive impression possible will you be accepted and
respected in a new community.
9. RESPONSIBILITY
This lifestyle is not for everyone. Take care in who you choose to bring
into it. Those who are mentally or emotionally unstable have no place
among us. They are dangerous and unreliable and may betray us in the
future. Make certain that those you choose to bring in are mature enough
for this burden. Teach them control and discretion, and make certain that
they respect our ways.
You will be responsible for their actions, and their behaviour in the
community will be reflected back to you.
10. ELDERS
There are certain members of our community who have established
themselves as just and responsible leaders. These are the people who
helped establish local communities, who organize havens, and who work
to coordinate the networking of our culture. While their word does not
have to be law, they should nevertheless be respected. They have greater
experience than many others, and usually greater wisdom. Seek these
elders out to settle your disputes, to give you guidance and instruction, and
to help you establish yourself in the local community.
Appreciate the elders for all they have given you: if it was not for their
dedication, the community would not exist as it does now.
11. DONORS
Without those who offer themselves body and soul to us, we would be
nothing. We cannot be other than what we are, but it is the donors who
sustain our nature. For this service, they should be respected. Never
mistreat your donors, physically or emotionally. They are not to be
manipulated or leeched off of for more than what they freely offer. Never
take them for granted. Appreciate them for the companionship and
acceptance which they offer us, which so many others would refuse. This
above all: appreciate the gift of their life. That communion is sacred.
Never fail to treat it as such.
12. LEADERSHIP
When you choose to take a position of authority in the community,
remember that you do not lead for yourself alone. Leadership is a
responsibility, not a privilege. A good leader must set an example for
23
everyone through his actions and behaviour. His motives should be
selfless and pure, and he should put the interests of the whole community
before his own.
The best leaders are those who serve to better the community and whose
person and behaviour gives no one—even those outside of the community
-- a reason to criticize them. They must strive to be above reproach.
13. IDEALS
Being a vampire is not just about feeding upon life. That is what we do,
but not necessarily what we are. It is our place to represent darkness in a
world blinded by light. We are about being different and accepting that
difference as something that empowers us and makes us unique. We are
about accepting the dark within ourselves and embracing that darkness to
make us whole beings. We are about celebrating the thresholds: body and
spirit, pleasure and pain, death and life.
Our lives should be lived as a message to the world about the beauty of
accepting the whole self, of living without guilt and without shame, and
celebrating the unique and beautiful essence of every
single soul.
"Well..... This is a good question and a concern of just about all psychic vampires. Having
psychic ability and the ability to project it into another's energy space in an unwanted
matter is and can be a problem among many with psychic vampirism. I have for most of
my 45 years had time to develop my psychic and empathic vampirism to a level where I
have not only experienced such psychic attacks on my energy space but I have also
developed some effective defensive techniques against them. Those with unwelcome
energy advances on your energy space have the ability to probe another's energy space
and effectively "steal" massive amounts of emotional energy. This of course is only
possible if the "victim" allows it.
"I recall the last time I was visiting New Orleans, I was at the Club, the Crystal, where
another vampire was there and we both were aware of each other. He reacted to my
presence as an invasion of his territory and proceeded to psychically attack me. His
methods were crude but would be effective with any inexperienced vampire. He walked
around me and used his psychic skill to probe and disturb my energy space. I was aware
of his actions. Any defence here will involve how skilled you are at "shielding" yourself
from such energy attacks. Remove the other person's focus on your energy by focusing
your energy on other sources in your immediate environment. This could be other people
and inanimate objects in the room nearby. By focusing your energy elsewhere, you
restrict another person's ability to take it, thus preventing another's attempts at psychic
draining. Do not try to match a psychic attack with another. This just causes energy
draining in both people. The key to deflecting another's energy and keeping yours is by
24
focusing your energy elsewhere. If the attack continues, focus your energy more on an
interaction with someone with you that you know is a friend, or just some other person
nearby. Such a friendly energy interaction causes a break-up of the offending person's
energy. Now, in my example, I took this a step further. I do not recommend you do this
unless you are a very well developed psychic vampire with good shielding abilities. I
proceeded to disrupt his energy attack even further by entering his energy space. By
moving my physical location about the club even nearer to his energy space, I forced him
to use more of his energy and weaken him, where I then proceeded to "feed" off of his
energy expenditure with my own psychic ability. Energy disruption is like a cat and
mouse game, you just out do the offending person's energy attack on yours by taking that
other person's energy as a food source for yourself, thus draining the offending person. In
my case, I eventually caused disruption of the other vampire's energy causing him to
leave the physical space he held and vacating the Club.
"I do not recommend this kind of action unless you are confident of your psychic and
shielding abilities. You could get drained even more. I do not appreciate another
vampire's attempts to psychically drain me, and I do not tolerate it. I believe I am
justified in draining the other and I am able to do so effectively. I have only found two
vampires who have attempted such a psychic attack on me in the last six months. Both
left the area. If you are ever in this situation, try the focused energy techniques I have
described here. Taking care to be aware of others is the first step towards avoidance of
another's energy and a potentially harming situation. As a psychic vampire, you must be
wary of the energy of other people around you. Even those who are not vampires can give
you chaotic unwanted energy and shielding is an ability you must develop and use with
you when you are among other people and other energy sources. For more information on
energy shielding, I have an archive of my articles which I can share with you. Feel free to
contact me further... "
I apologise for any inconveniences, this page is still under contruction. (Telepathy yet to

Are you the type that feels what others around you are feeling? Or do you Do other
people's moods affect you? Do you find that you are easily hurt by things that other
people see as insignificant? Do you consider yourself sensitive and/or introspective? If
so, you are probably empathetic - able to pick up on the feelings of those around
you.project to all those around you and they feel what you are feeling? Well, here is the
deal about Empaths. We are all empaths to some degree. We all have the abilit to feel and
project. But there are empaths out there who are not only stronger, but are more than
capable of using this gift in their daily lives.
I am an empath. I have both projecting and receiving capabilities. I can, by nature, pick
up whatever someone around me feels and I can change those feelings. Example - I do
25
not drink. Well, not enough to become intoxicated. I am heading for a career in beauty
and know all too well the biological effects of alcohol. But put me in a room full of
drunks and I become drunk.
I don't try to change what people around me feel - not only is it unethical, it's morally
wrong. How would you like it if someone tried to change what you feel and how you feel
it? That is the key to using the empathic gift you are given.
Let's look at what the gift is. Empathy is an ability to relate to what people are feeling and
to relate to others and what you are feeling. It is 'knowing' what the emotions around you
are and being able to put a name on it. Sounds easy? Yes... and no. If you are a closed
personality you may never notice what kind of emotional maelstrom is around you. This
is not a bad thing, mind you. There are worse things in the world, But if you are open to
the emotions that are around you, if you can feel them as vividly as your own, then you
have an opportunity to learn about and understand those around you.
Living produces 'sound'. I can't think of any other way to describe it. Everything around
you helps to produce this sounf. In my mind it is like white noise. Always in the
background - always there. As an empath, I can't be in the same room with a lot of
people. It is too exhausting. To me it's like being in a large party, all the time. The hum of
voices and not always being able to hear the conversation that you are involved in
without a lot of conversation. It's very tiring.
Let's look at using the gift in a well-adjusted and ethical manner. Firstly, NEVER EVER
use the gift to change someone's feelings and emotions. Like I said before, it's WRONG.
Like magick, it can and WILL rebound and bite you in the butt. You cannot make anyone
accept who and what you are.
Remember that everyone around you has the right to feel what they feel and live with
what they are feeling. You must be asked for direct intervention. Don't just do it because
it seems right at the time. Make sure that you are invited first. Secondly, there are an
aweful lot of people in this world who would like to get a hold of you and test your gift.
Being tested is one of the most annoying things in the world. The question that really gets
to me is, "What am I feeling right now?". Thirdly, always remember that as an empath,
you are a very unique person. You have a gift that can be a great boon... or a true burden.
Every empath that I know shields as a matter of course. Too much emotion around you
not only exhausts you, but it can drive you insane and even possibly do a lot of damage.
Not only to your mind, which is a delicate system, but to your immune system. Empaths
are notorious for picking up every bug within a 10-mile radius.
26
A shield is kind of like a forcefield. It keeps the ugly things out and helps maintain a
balance between you and the world. Quiet, well-built shields are the key. If you can
achieve it, you have a great place to retreat from the noises that living creates. The best
way to achieve the quiet effect is to find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.
Listen to soothing music. Concentrate on the beauty of the life that is around you. Drawin
the harmonies from the music and the beauty. Draw it into yourself and feel how it lifts
you up. Let it quickly sink into your being. When there is too much 'noise' around you,
listen to the harmonies that play inside you. Let them sooth your tired 'ears'. That is a
''quiet shield'.
Empathic Healing
By letting those emotional flows crash over my shielding, like the surf crashes into the
beach. Since my shielding is set up tp absorb this energy, it funnels it into refuelling the
shielding. Sounds twisted, but I do a lot of the cry-on-my-shoulder type of thing.
Physical Healing
This tends to follow the laying-on-of-hands type of healing. Opening the chakras. It can
be a very good way of dealing with illness, and very soothing to not only you but to the
person that you are working on. Here's the deal with physical healing: don't try it until
you are trained and ready and truly feel that this is your calling.
The key to not letting the negativity of others hurt you as a sensitive individual is in
learning to identify what feelings you are feeling and what feelings are coming from
outside of you.
In crowds, or other places where you feel a mish-mosh of energy coming at you from all
directions it might held to shield - either to block out all the vibrations around you, or to
concentrate on only one or two others. When people are angry with you, whatever their
reason, love yourself enough to forgive yourself and refuse to accept any negative
vibrations that people chose to throw at you.
As an Empath, you will find that aside from being able to pick up on other people's
emotions, you can pick up on energy emanating from all other living being (including
animals, plants, e.t.c. in physical life and in dreams and/or OOBEs), books, letters, people
over computer networks, music, art... All beings communicate at an emotional (non-
verbal) level through all media, most people are just not conscious of how they are doing
so.
27
In addition to being able to pick up on people's feelings, you can also tune into people's
auras, and get a general sense of what the person is all about: are they loving, do they
have a lot of anger, are they dabbling in manipulative magick, e.t.c.
The easiest way to do this is through eye contact, though in cases of people with intense
autas, eye contact is not even necessary. If eye contact is uncomfortable for you to
maintain with a person, don't stop yourself from looking away; your energy just doesnt
jibe with that of the person in question, and it is a sign that it is wise to be careful how
close you get to them.
At the other extreme, there are pepole that it feels wonderful to look in the eyes; these are
often soulmates (people we have known before in past lives) and the most intense of
these soulmates is the Twin Soul (our 'other half' for lack of a better definition).
Soulmates are often in deep love for eachother, which is, especially in the case of Twins
meeting, almost tangible.
On the topic of the undead—a science teacher of mine once said, “If it’s breathing, it’s
alive. That is, if it relies on respiration or photosynthesis.”
So vampires are technically non-living, reliant on energy sources? It’s very true that air
keeps ‘our vessel’ alive… but what about the entity inside the body? Our soul; our
wholeness? Our sanity! Can we then be dissected into two different bodies, the air-reliant
‘vessel’ (body) and the energy-reliant entity which are entwined to produce a single
being? This is a topic I have not given much thought of until now; I will write an article
on it after compiling some ‘evidence’. >:)
Certain people have a subconscious propensity to vampirism, who are thought of as born
with it. Later on in life, when it manifests, it is thought of as an awakening. If a vampire
is involved this awakening is thought of as the master vampire ‘turning’ the latent
vampire. The manifestation may never transpire for some; but for those in whom it does,
at least for Sanguinarians, it most often involves an exchange of blood or simple
consumption.
The awakened one receives the blood and it’s effects. In turn, their body realises what it
has been craving, perhaps due to a chemical reaction or by something biochemical.
Whichever the case, the awoken one now knows from the depth of their soul what they
desire and need to sustain themselves. It is your everlasting craving. Whether this is a
physical change or a side effect of drinking blood, I don’t know. Blood itself may be
addictive, to certain people or not at all. I haven’t heard any scientific perceptions on this
topic so I’d rather not elaborate on this. Whatever the case, the awakening process is
something that occurs over a period of time, and is not instant. The primary physical
changes occur, followed by the eventual mental progression.
This, ‘Awakening’, may probably occur out of necessity. Predatorial patterns increase,
and this whole thing just seemed to be for the post-latent’s own good—protection, peace,
knowledge and ability, for quality of life.
“I remember one day when I was about five years old, I had cut my finger and noticed I
was drawn to my own blood. Many people have tasted blood before from a simple cut
and thought nothing of it, but I knew the taste gave me a kind of energy which uplifted
me. I found in succeeding days and weeks that I would hide in the closet from my parents
and feed on my own blood energy. I only needed small amounts so simple cuts were
always enough. I knew then that I was different. Later, I met another kid at grade school
and I convinced him to meet me behind the athletic playing field (I know what this must
sound like) to try "feeding" from the blood of each other with simple cuts. He complied
at first but grew disinterested, but would allow me to "feed" from him provided I gave
him lunch money or small change. Well..this did not last long. As I grew older in my
teenage years, I found I had empathic abilities and was constantly probing the minds of
other students in my classes, including the teacher. One of my games was to try to guess
what others and the teacher were going to say in school. I found that using this mental
energy was a great "high" for me.
"My focus also started to include the emotions of others which I found was a great energy
feed, especially while around groups of people where it was an enjoyment to watch the
emotional interaction and body language of others. I learned in time to substitute the
psychic/empathic and emotional energy for the blood energy which was too often
unavailable. I started to now believe I was a natural predator for this energy of others and
thought what did that make me.. I began to look into my reading while in high school and
search out the meaning behind what made me different. Sure I watched your B rated
vampire movies but did not really think myself a vampire, since all I had to go on was the
film industry's own attitude of making up whatever for the most money. I looked at
history and what different authors had to say about vamps like Vlad and Nosferatu and so
many others. But I started to come to the fact that "true" vamps are energy feeders but
just of another sort and other abilities. I knew I needed and wanted the empathic/psychic
and blood energy to "feel" well and knew it would dominate my life. I also enjoyed
watching the body language of others and probing the mental energy and predicting their
29
actions to my benefit. I knew now I was vampire. Becoming an adult in the 1970s found
me eagerly searching the nightclub scene for worthy female souls to accommodate my
energy needs. Now, I always knew I was heterosexual so my focus has been for the most
part of the female souls around me. The next step was to be easy and my most satisfying.
I quickly discovered the pranic energy with the energy of sex and once combined with the
blood and emotional energy was the greatest energy feed I have ever had. To note,
vampires are energy feeders, and in my 44 years, this energy level is a part of my health.
The vamp that can adapt to differing kinds of energy from their donors is the one who
will keep that health. There is a balance with all and too much is avoided as is too little.”
"Techniques are to be developed over the years to shield from unwanted energy as
vampires as a slight imbalance in energies can be detrimental to the vampire’s health.
This is especially true with PsiVampires where many kinds of energy are "absorbed".
Energies to be shielded from are negative forms such as what may be found in the
emotions of others and the mental probes of other vampires.
"There have been many methods introduced to help with shield development.
Imagination combined with focusing skills are most important in shielding. Some
vampires have had success with using light sources such as candles or focusing on one
specific object in the room while blocking out other distractions around you. Here you
must concentrate on the energy of the candle or other object of your attention and break
the effect and impact of the unwanted energy sources. This takes time to develop, but can
be done with little effort, especially if you are psychicly inclined. However, these
learning techniques may not work for everyone. These are a foundation to developing
your own shielding techniques. Once personal skills are well developed and the ability is
acquired to separate negative and positive energy, making feeding from emotional energy
successful. All things are constantly being bombarded by emotional energy—but it is the
vampire who suffers from this the most, being ultra-sensitive. This is why shielding is the
paramount necessity. This is what truly separates empathic vampires from ordinary
people, i.e. the ability to readily absorb any emotional energy nearby. It is the well-skilled
vampire that can shield from the pain of negative emotions and energy probes of other
vampires. This of course does not mean all of this energy will not get through. As a well
developed empathic vampire I feel the pain of negative emotional energy every day when
around other people, but it is kept at a minimum with my shielding ability."
"Pranic vampirism provides a dense energy feed. One usually only needs small amounts
of the donor's blood (maybe an ounce or more) depending on your energy needs. It is
important to note that vampirism is both need based and ability based. In blood
vampirism, there is an ability to use the life giving energy of blood and a need for it's
dense energy concentration.
30
The problem with many is finding safe donors. I recommend care in blood feeding and
blood play. Use a sterile and stainless razor blade or lancet device and some type of anti-
infectant such as peroxide after the fact. I do not recommend using teeth to puncture the
skin. This can be dangerous for direct contact of one's mouth with the inside blood of the
skin. One should also keep in mind that blood is a natural emetic and will cause one to
vomit if ingested too much and if one is both not use to blood feeding or has never drank
blood. The attributes of blood are that it provides a dense form of the "life" energy and so
can do so in small amounts at a time. The problems that arises is finding safe donors and
practicing safe blood feeding. Care is an important concern. Just about all with true
vampirism have some psychic vampirism but not as many are true need based blood
feeders.
It does require the presence of people around you. I take some days and spend them alone
and with other days take the time for the nightlife of clubs and parties or even music
shows and concerts where the psychic energy is usually more plentiful. Some energy can
be had thru elemental sources such as storms and other weather phenomenon. This can be
useful if the psychic vamp can tie into it. Combining both pranic and psychic sources
make for the best energy feeds. This is not always possible but is a goal for true vamps.
Everyone is different in ability and need, but one must make the best use of what is
available around you. In vampirism, the ability to multi source contributes to greatest
wellness. For it is this lack of our feeds that contribute to our headaches and depression
and the emotional and mental trauma we know too well in this life.
I am a 44 year old vamp and knew of my bloodlust as a child when I would hide in the
closet and feed upon my self. My empathic abilities and desire to psi feed came later as a
teen. During most of my adult life as an energy feeder, I have been a blood/psychic vamp
and found that I quenched my thirst with some blood energy feeds a week, but found
myself subconsciously psi feeding all the time on the emotional and mental energy of
anyone around my space. Then came the time I found that combining my feeding during
31
sex became the ultimate energy feed for me, and then I sent out for this in my hunts all
the time. I realized that I was living for those moments and nothing more. My energy
needs were well met as long as I sensed a worthy partner whom freely gave me this
ultimate feed. There would be dining in a club with free flowing conversation where I
could begin my energy feed and this would be followed later by the blood feed with sex. I
lived for this ultimate energy need for many years always living alone and thus kept my
strength most of the time, usually falling back on psi feeding when the other was not
available to me. And I would say that this is what sustained me over some difficult times
when my energy level was low. Now, I have one regular donor whom I feed from, from a
couple times a week to several times, depending on when she is available to me. I do not
feed on the blood energy much anyone, finding that my psi abilities/feeding with sexual
energy provide me enough energy I need for my strength. I am pleased about this
arrangement as this donor is quite committed to me and I do not need to hunt as I once
did. Maybe it is now my age but then most souls grow with time and therefore change. I
believe I have been fortunate most of my life since I was old enough to know of the
bloodlust as a child. I knew I was born a vamp and so knew of my destiny early. I still
live alone and would not have it any other way. As for the times I have found myself
unable to feed, my life suffered from lethargy and low energy levels. I can even recall
times I did not even get out of bed. There have been many years since then, but I
remember quite clearly the emotional and energy drain. As for the moon, I get an energy
boost monthly when it's full and always look forward to this time."
Blood play is indeed a sensual experience between two consenting donors. It has always
been so in my experience and I believe most will enjoy it much more this way. Love is
important in most safe blood play for many and in order to accept another's blood. Then
there is combining the blood fetish with other energy sources such as the life force or
pranic energy from sex, makes for a great energy transfer. Vampires have unique powers,
empathy and magic being among the strongest. The blood, the life force we crave is the
power within it. Through the years, many vampires learn to handle the bloodlust. Yes we
drink of the blood of others but do not require it for life and some do not care for it at all.
One learns to control this craving to a certain degree. By ingesting too much blood, one
could get throat infections, and also become very nauseated. Consuming large amounts of
blood, could cause you to become sick and vomit because blood is a natural emetic. In
small doses, as I imagine is true with blood, there is a need to feed more frequently. But a
32
strong and well learned psi-vamp has a unique advantage over a blood vamp, they can
feed on an unlimited supply at one sitting without any real harm. All vampires are psi-
vamps to a degree, they use their mind and body energies to manipulate the life energy
they absorb from others to fill the energy deficit that all vamps have. This often includes
controlling humans and reading minds, and using the emotional energy to gain the energy
needs of life. Most vampires have these abilities, so they could all be referred to as psi-
vamps to some extent as few actually drink blood and those that do seem to psionically
absorb the life force and energy within the blood. Psi-vamps seem to become a little more
energised by draining/contact, but they experience none of the benefits of the blood or
sickness as well. Feed well and be safe about it..
Painless Blood-Letting?
There are only really two methods which are really suitable. One is the use of needles or
sterile lancets and the other is scalpels. You can get hypodermic needles and syringes
from any clinic, pharmacy/chemist, or hospital that is part of a needle exchange program
(the UK has an extremely good program of this sort). They will also dispose of used
needles. Lancets are provided to diabetics to allow them to test their blood.
Suitable scalpels can be acquired from art shops; boil them if you want extra sterility.
Scalpels are much better than knives, because they are so much sharper, thus making the
whole thing a lot more painless. Razor blades are also suitable.
For needles, I prefer to take blood out with a suitable size of syringe, although it is
possible to set up a catheter, or use a lancet or needle (sans syringe) to pierce a vein, and
suck from it directly. The best place to take out blood with a needle is from the vein in the
crook of the arm. It's best to get someone to teach you how to do this. You don't want to
puncture an artery by accident, or hit a nerve, or end up with bruises all over your arm.
Make friends with your friendly local junkie. The needle kits will probably also come
with some instructions for finding veins. This will result in no scarring, and any marks
should heal up within a day.
Obligatory Safety Notice: The use of clean and sterile works is as important for
magicians and vampires as it is for drug users. It's not a good idea to share needles,
however clean of disease someone might be - it's rather easier to catch things from
needles than it is from drinking blood.
It's only advisable to use a needle a maximum of three times before throwing it away;
they blunt rather easily. DO NOT inject someone else's blood, as blood of an
incompatible type can and has caused serious problems.
Scalpels tend to cause rather more scarring than needles, as you have to hack through
quite a bit of flesh to get at your veins.
Always make a transverse incision (i.e. across the vein, rather than down it), as these heal
up more easily, and are less likely to cause severe blood loss. Don't cut too deeply, as you
may run the risk of severing tendons.
Some scarring is probably going to result, so make cuts somewhere innocuous.
If you don't need much blood, the back of the hand is surprisingly good, as it heals easily
for some reason, you don't have to cut very deep, and no one pays attention to cuts there.
33
If you're worried about accusations of mental instability, DO NOT cut your forearms.
Upper arms are harder to find a vein in, but at least they don't scream suicide attempt.
Vitamin E creams, easily available at your local pharmacy, help heal skin so that scarring
doesn't occur.
Some people recommend ankles and feet, but that can be uncomfortable if you wear
shoes.
You could also try behind your knees, which I've heard recommended by some. I don't
know that much about the best places to use a scalpel, as I always use needles except in
emergencies. If you don't have a local needle exchange, dealers in drugs for IV use will
often be able to sell you the necessary equipment. If it isn't sealed in a sterile wrapper,
DO NOT use it. If you need to use a dagger, it is advisable to boil it, or at least dump a
load of medical alcohol over it first.
If you use a scalpel or knife, you'll probably want to have some cut medication handy to
help it heal up faster and more painlessly, and to help stave off infection. We recommend
Germaline, which has both antiseptic and pain killing properties. It works for lizard
scratches, at any rate, and they're a good deal more septic than a cut with a sterile blade.
It's also a good idea to swab the area you're about to cut with alcohol - many distributors
of needle packs include a box of alcohol wipes with them.
