The Butterfly’s Dream

The Butterfly’s Dream’ is a Turkish drama film directed and written by Yılmaz Erdoğan.
One of the main characters was the handsome actor Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and the beautiful
actress Farah Zeynep Abdullah. The storyline is based in a true story from the Second
World War, during the 40s, about the life of two young friends from Turkey who write
love poems.
The story starts telling us about how they live, their work and their ambitions. The two
handsome men have a hard life because of the World War II, however, everything
changes when both of them have to overcome different problems like forbidden love,
diseases, social class and religious system.
I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, and how the actors interpreted the most
complicated scenes, for example, the fact of crying, it was so real. Also, the way in which
they talk and the clothing, everything was related with the life during the 40s.
I get the chance to watch this film in the original version with Arabic Subtitles However,
if you don’t know Arabic or Turkish, there is no problem, because this film was translated
into other languages like English. So, I recommend you to watch it because it is very
interesting and you are going to learn a lot about Turkish people.
