4.0 DEFINITIONS

Main Contractor: Responsibilities include the co-ordination and management of the project, all
liaise with external bodies and provide tower cranes for the project.

Sub-Contractor: Responsible for procurement, fabrication, delivery and erection of structural

steelwork for the Parcel 3.09 Wadi.

Project Manager:
Cleveland Bridge person responsible for the overall control of Parcel 3.09
WADI. Including responsibility for ensuring that all work carried out is in
compliance with the Project Quality Plan, Procedures and Inspection and
Test Plans. Also responsible for monitoring and recording all aspects of the
project relating to Cleveland Bridge works on the Project.

Construction Manager: The Cleveland Bridge Construction Manager is responsible for the erection of
all steelwork on Parcel 3.09 WADI. This person will have adequate training,
authority and experience to take overall responsibility for supervision and
control of the relevant elements of work covered by this Method Statement.

Appointed Person:
Competent Person nominated by either the Senior Project Manager or
Construction Manager to carry out a specific task/activity. The candidate must
hold up to date qualification in the relevant operation fields. In the event that
an Appointed Person has not been nominated then all such responsibilities
will be borne by the Construction Manager.

Competent Person/People: A person who has the practical and theoretical knowledge together with
actual experience of the task they are carrying out.
