Gerontik Nursing Care at Ny. K With Hypertention

In Puskesmas Nanggalo Padang Working Area

Hypertension prevalence around the world in the year 2010 as many as 4,400 /
10,000 population and in Asia has reached 8-18 % in 2012. Hypertension
prevalence in Indonesia as much as 12.8 % in 2012 and the prevalence of
hypertension in western Sumatra (38.8 %) was higher than the national
prevalence, while the city of Padang (29.5 %) occupy the second highest number.
The incidence of hypertension is highest on Puskesmas Nanggalo Padang working
area in 2112 the incidence is increasing every year. Purpose of writing is to
implement nursing care gerontik on Ny. K with Hypertention in Puskesmas
Nangalo Padang Working area 2016 years. Nursing interventions in hypertension
in the elderly Ny. K containment procedures namely by setting diet foods as well
as therapy tomato juice which is carried out during the week, where the
manufacture of tomato juice from 150 grams ( ± 2 pieces) fresh red tomatoes, 50
ml of water, and 2 grams of sugar (1 teaspoon) and then in blancing for 2 minutes.
Blood pressure was measured 5 minutes before and 30 minutes after
administration of tomato juice therapy . Blood pressure checks performed 5
minutes before administration of tomato juice. Implementation of tomato juice
therapy that has been done during the week in Ny. K with the result of a decline in
average blood pressure of 20 mmHg systolic and 10 mmHg diastolic pressure.
The results of this scientific work shows that therapeutic administration of tomato
juice in the treatment of hypertension have blood pressure lowering effectiveness
in the elderly. Suggestions for Community Health Centers in order to optimize the
implementation of Posyandu in controlling the health of the elderly, especially in
the elderly with hypertension.
