The path I walk does not lead to what I seek

Dreams from night to day, they seem bleak
Confused, bemused, I try to hide
This wasn’t what I had in mind

The words I speak do not reveal my desires

Thoughts forgotten, left to expire
Anxious, fearful, I try to write
Written words found comfort in sight

The acts I perform do not show all my truth

Hiding behind manners and booth
Young, eager, I want to explore
Movement in writing, I adore

The path, desires and truth, these written words tell

Ideas clawing out, dispel!
Amateur and willing to learn
Knowledge gained, ready to affirm

The path I walk does not lead to what I seek - 11

But written words light the way for __________

But written words ignite what I aspire - 10

But written words set fire to my youth – 10
